Various prototype aircraft can be unlocked as you progress through the game - if you can be bother to take the time to do so.
Disclaimer: Don't ask me how this happened, but taking a screen shot in the 'Reply' mode improves the look of the game ten fold! It doesn't look as good as this during normal play! (IMHO)...If it did it would be an OK game, instead of a crap one!

Photographs by Larato Maduna of the A MAZE./Johannesburg 2nd international games/media art festival which ran from 5-7 September 2033. A MAZE./Johannesburg was produced by A MAZE. together with Wits Digital Arts. The event brought South African, European, and African indie game designers and digital artists/activists/entrepreneurs together in Johannesburg for the three days of game play, digital art, workshops, talks and parties. Yes, this *is* a game screenshot! And I don't even have a super-duper really up-to-date gaming PC rig either...So the graphic quality can actually improve on this on newer machines.
Here I undertake 'Boot Camp' - Armed Assault 2's single player training and familiarization segment. Having just been playing Americas Army3 this element of the game looks very familiar indeed, but that's where the similarity between the two games ends.
ArmA2 is HUGE - the sheer scale of the environment and the awesome depth of the detail is stunning, and even a little over-whelming at first.
The game is not without it's problems, but these are out-weighed by the tremendous improvements that have been made by the developers over the hideous first instalment in the series. I have no dought that games magazines will be dropping the term 'instant classic' at all over the place.
I while remain restrained however, until I play more and - most importantly - play the multi-player side of this game.
