This photograph is part of a small collection of black and white photos of different subjects that were taken by a professional photographer during the 1980's - 1990's. These photos were found collected together in an abandoned storage unit in Las Vegas, Nevada....

HISTORY
Pillar completed 8th November 1945 costing £8.13s.3d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NZ29/26 within the Newcastle block, and levelled to second class precision during 1947. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in October 1978.
SITE VISIT
Overall approach from the south. There is limited parking for a few cars on the south verge of the unclassified road at NU086156. Followed the track to ~100m short of the comms mast then turned left along the edge of the hill to the summit. Open grazing top. The pillar is in good condition. The spider retains its original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket S3556 faces east, compass measurement 87°. Vented through the north sight hole. Full 360° panoramic view from the top.

At The National Museum of Computing www.tnmoc.org at Bletchley Park, on a trip with Sarah, Jenny and Stephen AKA Spacedog.
Wearables and Smart Textiles Workshop at Interface-University of Ulster, Belfast. This had been a fantastic workshop with textile designers from Interface research lab. We explored physical computing, programming, smart textiles and built a soft circuit bracelet and a secret message glove!
