Inside the Pumphouse building on Cockatoo Island, one of the best preserved industrial sites in Sydney. According to my guide when the facility was decommissioned the workers were told to leave as though it was an ordinary day. Hence machinery was just covered, coffee cups and books left on the desk in the office etc.
Apart from generating power for the island, the pumps were used to pump out the two dry docks.

I ran across these photos on my old ThinkPad a few days ago.
A rack of refrigeration compressors at a supermarket. This is what keeps things cool and frozen. This type of equipment is located either at the rear, on the side or on the roof of a store. Pipes send the refrigeration to wherever it's needed; reach in cases, deli cases, produce cases, tub cases, ice machines, freezer cases, ect. The compressors kick on and off as needed in a somewhat random order. A rack can still keep things cool even if a couple of compressors fail.... Depending on how many compressors total on the rack.
This is the type equipment I used to work on. I think I spent more time on the road than working. I still do HVAC/R and electrical but I don't have to live on the road anymore and work long long hours.

This perspective is about 5ft from floor level, looking down a clean line of sight between the eight rows of compressors in Pyestock's old turbine hall. I liked the appearance of depth provided by this view.
This compressor was a later addition in its own little extension. The stair case at the back gives an idea of scale. Massive!
Back of the CA form B control. Unique to this model is the two pin connector. Other models use screw terminals.
Here, we can see where the bellows push against to actuate the switch. Pushing in turns on the compressor.
The temperature control provides an adjustable preload to the bellows, so that the bellows require more or less pressure to actuate the switch.
The defrost control is merely a mechanical offset to the temperature control to extend the range at the warmer end of the scale.
