I like the backdrop here .... a rainy night, wet pavement, filtered street lights, all leading toward the ocean.

I've driven, walked and cycled past this view a thousand times and never taken a photo.
Compositionally Challenged week 34 is "your choice", meaning that our challenge is simply to have fun with our cameras.
It is unusual to see the moon looking so red when it is high above the horizon. We are getting smoke from wildfires in British Columbia as well as eastern Washington. Air quality is "unhealthy". The smoke haze is so thick, it is keeping daytime high temperatures 8-10 degrees F lower than they would otherwise be.

The image comes from my new series which I've been working on lately; still unpublished.
I went over the Highland Park today as I figured I'd find some Autumn Crocuses in bloom. Indeed there were some. But look at what else I found - a ready-made composition that an earlier photographer had set up - fall leaves, some fruit from a nearby tree..and...an Autumn Crocus! I didn't see how I could improve on that set-up.
I also felt a nice connection with an unseen photographer. So, whoever you are, I thank you for my picture
