In the beginning, Merkhava brought compassion, love and health to the word and it was good. Every living being was filled with an instinct to nurture its own kind and to ease any suffering. Also, they possessed a level of health that fought off all infection and nearly any wound was healed quickly and without pain. Those few millennia swept by and then the age of man dawned in eden.
When Adam and Eve were exiled from Eden, the All-Father charged Merhkava to take back some of her blessings which introduced pain and suffering into the world. With a heavy heart, she complied with the divine command. That was the first time the angel shed a tear of her own but it wouldn’t be the last.
Her breaking point came with the first murder. Merhkava felt the violation of the compassion she instilled in the human race like a shredding of her own heart. Agony, never before felt coursed through her and broke the angel’s spirit. From that day onward tears continue to trickle from her eyes without respite. She blamed herself for the murder because she had submitted to the Lord’s demand to lessen the amount of compassion humans were capable of feeling.
In her pain, she listened to the words of the Morning Star and began following the rebellion. Not once did she take up the sword but served as a field medic. With her control over the health of all creation, she mended the flesh of the rebels and their thralls. Because she allowed the rebels to continue fighting when the judgment came, she too was cast down into the abyss.

It's funny how you don't sometimes know what you've actually captured until you download a shot!
We'd tried in vain to capture a butterfly on our Camelias.....and noticed this Blowfly sitting on the petals in the early morning sun. So we took a few shots....hand held with the 18-200mm lens. Thinking the fly looked rather good sitting amongst the dew covered flowers.
When we downloaded the shots and cropped this one....we couldn't believe the orb of water he had stuck to his mouth. It appears he has picked up a small drop of dew....a rather unique way of having a drink.

The Clinique Even Better makeup is a foundation which evens and corrects the skin tone. It’s a light liquid which comes in various shades to match your complexion. This is ideal for me as it’s not heavy enough to cover uneven skin tones, but not so heavy that it makes me completely monotone. It means that this foundation gives a good coverage whilst still looking natural. Wearing it, I have been complimented by friends and make-up artists telling me that I have good skin, this definitely gives it a sign of approval!
What makes this foundation even better is that it is SPF15. It’s easy to forget that your skin needs year-round protection, and that even when it’s not hot and sunny outside, the sun still does damage to your skin. Even Better keeps your skin healthy, and allows for a natural, non-shiny complexion in summer. Instead it leaves a clean and flawless look to your face, without clogging up pores.
This foundation doesn’t make skin matte or greasy, but seeks to give a natural skin look – it’s a little bit shiny around the T-zone, and less so on the cheeks. The shininess can easily be covered with a powder, but even without additional make up it looks natural. Her face is pretty, but bland and generic. She only has a passing resemblance to the movie character, as portrayed by Elle Fanning. She doesn't have very realistic features, but looks like an ordinary doll painted to look like an animated character. She has a light complexion, small blue green eyes gazing straight ahead, brown eyebrows, small straight nose, light pink lips on a small mouth, large chin, and light rouge on her cheeks.
She has long golden blonde hair that reaches her hips. There is a solitary long curl hanging from her left side. The rest of her hair is slightly wavy, and is grouped in a single mass, which I left alone. It would look better if it were combed out, but I was afraid that it might get frizzy if I attempted to do so. The hair is shiny and soft, and doesn't appear to have any hair product.
The dress is golden brocaded satin, with a floral design. The underside is very light tan in color. There is also a painted floral overlay in pink and green, which is only in the front of the dress (the front of the skirt and bodice). There is golden lace trim at the hem, waist and collar and cuffs. Her collar and cuffs end in white organza. The skirt is pleated, and almost floor length. The bodice has a high waist, with a golden belt sewn around it. Her sleeves are full length. There is a over sized train sewn to the back of the dress, just below the waist. It made of the same material and has the same decoration as the front of the skirt. Its underside is fully lined with gold satin. The dress looks and feels luxurious, and fit for royalty.
She is wearing tan colored heels, with a simulated strap and an unpainted embossed floral design. She is wearing a gold colored plastic crown that is made to look like a floral wreath, that goes halfway around her head. It is secured only by two T-tab fasteners, so it is not meant to be removed or used on other dolls.
Her body is made of hard plastic throughout. She has seven points of articulation: her neck, shoulders, elbows and hips. Her hands are permanently tilted back to make the standard Princess pose. Her feet are fixed at an angle to wear high heels. Her head can turn 360 degrees around, and can tilt up about 20 degrees, and tilt down 10 degrees. Her arms can swivel about the shoulders 360 degrees, and can tilt about 20 degrees. Her forearms can swivel around her elbows almost 360 degrees, but cannot go completely around. They can tilt back about 20 degrees, and forward about 60 degrees. Her hips can swivel 90 degrees both back and forth, and can tilt out about 30 degrees. She has white painted on underwear, which looks like a strapless one piece bathing suit.
Packaging and Deboxing
It was easy to debox Coronation Aurora, compared to most Disney Store dolls. First step was to remove the clear plastic cover from the box, by cutting the tape around the edges, and lifting the tabs free from the cardboard. Aurora is standing on a small cardboard spacer. Behind her is a printed background from the movie, which is common to all the dolls in this series. There was only plastic T-tab fasteners securing her to the backing and the plastic spacer. It was possible to reach all the fasteners and snip them off, without having to remove the large plastic spacer. It turned out that the fastener that was supposed to go into the back of her head didn't make it past her hair, so she didn't have a post sticking out of her head when I snipped the fastener loose. The other end of the fastener was just laying loose in her hair. There was tissue paper around her legs, but only up to her knees, to make the skirt look fuller in the box.

I just received the four available Jakks Pacific dolls from the Maleficent movie in single doll packages. I ordered them from Toys R Us on Friday night and got them Tuesday, with free shipping. I appreciated the quick shipping, compared to the Disney Store. The dolls are the following, with links to the TRU site. All the dolls are 11 1/2'' H. The Coronation dolls are $39.95 each, the other two are $19.95.

The complexion of this sweet vintage Dam troll inspired me to create a peaches n' cream doll. She has virtually no blush, just a simple light creamy tone to her skin. I accented this with some peach Icelandic mohair, and a dress made by Marie, with peach rose accents. For the finishing touches, she was given matching troll-sized shoes and her own basket of roses. Two roses were left out of the bunch, though. One for the pretty bow in her hair, and one for her lucky owner!
It's ready! The gorgeous colour comes from real organic carrot juice - I'm really happy with this batch. It feels wonderful to hold, has a great texture, and smells like a health food store. What more could you ask for?

This dark and blurry shot of dancers in motion, taken with an old camera, is the survivor of a crash that occurred a couple of years ago. I honor its miraculousness, as well as the dancers who were so graceful.
