She was thin, dark complexioned but with eyes so big and expressive that to my eyes she immediately stood out. I was surprised at the roundness of her cheeks and face in contrast to her frame.
While she was being fed, she was aware of me and as I took the shot she just looked back calmly straight into my lens. Her eyes speaks ! :-)
As I was post processing, I noticed the splotches on her skin, 'tinea flava' or 'an-an' as we call it. Apparently being left untreated. Could not help but compare how she was being cared for compared to my own children.
All my three children never had so much as a single cavity in their growing years. And all grew plump to the point of obesity at one time or another.

I took the photograph the way it is composed because I saw this young woman near my work and her freckles and beautiful complexion introduced me to her. I focused on the details in her face. It looked so fresh. I had her step away from the background to blur it, which made very cool effects. What makes this photograph interesting to me is that there are catch lights in her eyes. They make me wonder what she is looking at so intensely, which seems to have fixated her into a daydream. Her rings definitely adds another layer. The emotion/feeling I am trying to convey in this photograph is calmness. She has a very zen, earthy vibe. It doesn't matter where she was, it's blurry. There's something ahead that is beautiful and new, but she's patient. I used an F-stop of 2.8 to brighten the picture according to the sun, the white balance is set to direct sunlight. It also helped blur out the background while keeping the subject in focus. I sped up the shutter to 1/500 to darken the photo enough and keep her face sharp. The iso is 110, which is relatively low to reduce noise and darken it further.
