In the center of a Dogwood blossom you'll find the most incredible sphere. The true flowers are tightly clustered there, surrounded by white petal-like bracts. A bract is a modified or specialized leaf which can serve the function of attracting pollinators. Nature is full of lovely surprises.
Alhambra (Arabic: "red tower") - a fortified palace complex in Granada. Built in the years 1232-1273 and expanded to the fourteenth century. It is the fortress of the Moorish caliphs. Yusuf I and Muhammad V.
Alhambra, a monument of Arab construction in Europe, it consists of a palace with several courtyards and decorated rooms and Alkazaba. Next to the palace is Generalife - a summer residence with gardens. The Alhambra was the last point of Arab support in Spain until 1492.
The Alhambra Fortress was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1984.

Twierdza Alhambra została w 1984 roku wpisana na listę światowego dziedzictwa kultury UNESCO.
Zabytek arabskiego budownictwa w Europie. Składa się z pałacu z kilkoma dziedzińcami i dekorowanymi salami oraz Alkazaby. Obok pałacu znajduje się Generalife – letnia rezydencja z ogrodami. Alhambra była do roku 1492 ostatnim punktem oparcia Arabów w Hiszpanii.
As autumn colour fades, there are still some patches to be found where the weather hasn't dulled the colour. I loved the thin tendrils of bare trees in front of this backdrop of orange. Taken from Castle Hill, Wittenham Clumps looking across into the edge of Little Wittenham Wood.
Possibly the last of this little series of blossoming blackthorn at Wittenham Clumps. The branches of these trees always fascinate with their complexity, a feast for the eyes to wander. Couple that with a glorious display of white flower and the seem now to be dancing.
If you ever have a chance to tour a large refinery... do it! The behemoth scale of everything dwarfs humans, yet it all came out of our little inventive minds! It’s an experience never forgotten.

Looking closely at a dragonfly, their structure is quite amazing. Quite delicate, yet, superbly functional.
Somewhere in the Zion Wilderness is a usually dry waterfall that exposes some complex geology. There is no water falling, but some intricate icicles have formed from seeps.
While touring the Kenai Fjords, the boat operator put us up close to some shear cliffs that had waterfalls on them. This looked to be a fan waterfall but with some interesting interactions with the underlying cliff causing the water to radiate and spray in a specific pattern.

I saw this beautiful dragonfly resting on our wall so i had to grab my camera and macro lense and snap off a few shots. I cant believe how beautiful and complex they are. The macro world is indeed a wonderful yet alien world.
