Holiday touring around central and Northern Thailand.
The Bang Pa-In Royal Palace complex (or the Summer Palace) was originally constructed in 1632 by King Prasat Thong. However it fell into disuse until King Mongkut began to restore the site in the mid-19th century. Most of the present buildings were constructed between 1872 and 1889 by King Chulalongkorn.
Phra Thinang Wehart Chamrun is a 2 storied mansion in the Royal complex built by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in 1889.
My wife and I spent some time at Lumberton's Northeast Park/Dr. Raymond B. Pennington Athletic Complex walking the paved trail. The trees were damaged during Hurricane Matthew.
Wat Pho is a Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is on Rattanakosin Island, directly south of the Grand Palace. Known also as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn.
The temple is first on the list of six temples in Thailand classed as the highest grade of the first-class royal temples. It is associated with King Rama I who rebuilt the temple complex on an earlier temple site, and became his main temple where some of his ashes are enshrined. The temple complex houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, including a 46 m long reclining Buddha.
The temple was also the earliest centre for public education in Thailand, and still houses a school of Thai medicine. It is known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage which is still taught and practiced at the temple.

Easter Island (Rapa Nui: Rapa Nui, Spanish: Isla de Pascua) is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian triangle. A special territory of Chile that was annexed in 1888, Easter Island is famous for its 887 extant monumental statues, called moai ( /ˈmoʊ.aɪ/), created by the early Rapanui people. It is a World Heritage Site (as determined by UNESCO) with much of the island protected within Rapa Nui National Park. In recent times the island has served as a warning of the cultural and environmental dangers of overexploitation. Ethnographers and archaeologists also blame diseases carried by European colonizers and slave raiding[4] of the 1860s for devastating the local peoples.

The standing stone is 1.96m high. The stone stands in the midst of a large complex of stone field walls and stone enclosures some of which are buried under or sticking up out of the bog. It is not possible to say to what extent these are associated with, or are of similar date to, one another. A modern field boundary divides the area and is built of stone similar to those buried in the bog. It is likely that this was, at least in part, constructed by robbing the earlier structures. (b) S of the modern wall is a series of walls and enclosures all definitely associated. Some are buried up to 1m in the bog and have been revealed by probing. Other sections of this series are visible in turf cuttings and at the edges of the bog, where it is less deep and peters out. The series consists of a number of small 'fields' and two small oval cairns, 6m × 4m and 8m × 3m. A larger semicircle of stones to the N fades out on the S side of the modern field wall. It is now c. 32m in diameter. (c) To the N of the modern field boundary is a second series of walls and enclosures. These are distributed about the standing stone (a) above. W of this standing stone are three other stones standing in a roughly N-S line. To the S of these is a large circular stone enclosure c. 35m in diameter. A stone wall divides this enclosure N-S into an eastern 2/3 and a western 1/3. The wall stops c. 6m from the S side of the enclosure. On the N side, between the enclosure wall and the dividing wall, is a small sub-circular enclosure. There is a second small enclosure just outside the main large enclosure. There are a number of stretches of field walls to the N, W and E, and four small enclosures associated with these. The turf has been removed in this area and it is not possible to say with certainty that these features predated its growth. (d) Further N on the same hill are a number of other field walls with an associated rectangular foundation. These are situated in rough boggy terrain but it is not possible to say whether or not they predate the bog, which has been largely cut away in this area.

Cadastral Community: Inner City. The building complex of the Old University was created from 1624 in the 17th and 18th century and was home to the University of Vienna until the relocation to the new university building at the Ring Road in 1884. The new auditorium is since 1857 the seat of the Academy of Sciences.
The Jesuit Church was built between 1623-1631 by an unknown architect. From 1703 Andrea Pozzo re-designed the hitherto simple construction by renewing the façade, adding the towers and also rebuilding the interior opulently.

Destination Jakarta today, Non-stop Amsterdam-Jakarta.
We arrived in Jakarta in the late morning and headed straight away for the old Harbor and Dutch Cityhall.
That was enough for the day and our 14 hour flight.
Leaving Jakarta already next morning, after a quick stop at the Monas, for Bogor and the Puncak pass, but the pass was deleted from the tour as the roads were blocked during this eastern holiday weekend.
Visited only Bogor Botanic gardens and headed to Bandung via Jakarta.
Bandung is famous for its Art Deco city center.
We boarded the train for a 5 hour scenic drive to Kroya .
Night-stop at Wonosobo with the Dieng Vulcanic area and Java's oldest Hindi temples are nearby.
Fortunatly it didn't rain during our visit to the famous Borobudur temple complex .
We arrived in Yogjakarta for a full package - 2 day visit.
A becak tour in the early moring to the the Sultans Kraton Palace, Shopping, Batik, silver and dinner show to name a few.
On the second day a bicycle tour near Prambanan and more World Heritage at the Impressive Prambanan temple complex
Our second scenic trainride ends in Batu.
Time to relax here and prepare for our ultimate sunrise experience at the Bromo vulcano.
One more stopover in Kalibaru with a nice Botanic Garden before we took the ferry to Bali.
A few days at Bali Sanur Beach, relax and enjoying the sun.
Despite a few activities : Mountainbike at Bali's famous Ricefields, snorkling and visiting art village Ubud as we headed for our last
visit at the Tanah Lot temple for sunset.

This is one of the most complex flowers I have ever seen. I saw this at Lows the other day and bought it just to take pictures of! I decided to use this picture which shows the main flower in all it's glory. I thought I would eliminate the background more thank just Bokeh but by painting out all the color except the main flower. I liked the results as I didn't want anything to take away from the single flower's detail!
