PENTAX K-3

PENTAX smc PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 1:3.5-4.5 10-17mm ED(IF)

A plausible cause for me being sick until now is all the work I put into my kitchen this past week. Nonetheless, it was well worth it. It's far from a gourmet kitchen, but I feel a sense of peace when I'm preparing food in there. It's amazing how far your dollar can stretch if a little investment in time and sweat equity is made. I'm pretty proud of what I accomplished here, and am confident that the work I put into this I will receive back ten fold.

I don't care if "primer black" is the fashon, I hope the owner paints this classic.

As the Old Donation School nears its completion, it is receiving great reviews. It will be home to students in grades second through eighth who are gifted intellectually, in visual arts or dance. It has a capacity of 1,375.

The school, which will open about four months ahead of schedule, has features common in 21st century education, such as small-group learning spaces and seats that easily slide around, flexible walls, and using hallways as educational spaces. It also has an 800-seat theater and an outdoor stage.

Pirate-y Wallaby is in the home stretch. About 7 more inches worth of stockinette to go on that hood, then kitchener it up and I'm good! Well.. almost good. The bottom, as you can see, decided to have an "overachiever" kind of roll, so I'm debating whether I want to do an applied I-cord to tame it down, or just pick up and knit a ribbing band after all. Guess I'll see just how crazy it is after blocking.

Improving Degree Completion for 21st Century Students

A Federal Role in Credit Transfer and Metro Region Policy

October 28, 2010, 9:00am – 11:00am

The Obama administration has set an aggressive goal for the United States to retake global leadership in postsecondary degree attainment by 2020. The president's goals will require the highly decentralized system of 4,600 colleges and universities to increase productivity dramatically. Productivity, as measured by the number of degrees produced, can be improved by ensuring that students who transfer, an increasingly common phenomenon, retain as much college credit as possible as well as better aligning postsecondary policy with key cross-state metropolitan areas that drive regional and national economic growth.

The concentration of population and economic resources in metropolitan regions makes them engines of America's competitiveness, but many metros cross state boundaries, creating inefficiencies in terms of increased tuition costs, difficulty of transfer and even duplication of fixed costs as states compete for higher education supremacy. Policies that help ease the college-going of metro residents can also help reduce the costs and increase effectiveness of postsecondary education.

Previously, in August 2011. And now, Holgate Windmill has its sails and is making flour again!

I only visited to take some external photographs, but some members of the HWPS were taking tea outside and were happy to update me on their progress over the last three years. While Steve Potts (on the right) took a long look at my bike, Jenny Hartland invited me into the windmill and gave me an impromptu tour of each floor. I was allowed to climb the ladder into the cap just far enough to see the elegant woodwork and gearing arrangements.

Of course, there are lots of photographs like this one, because there are now only about two places from which you can see the windmill. Where once it had stood alone, (when all this were fields, etc.), the housing planners of the late 1930s put the windmill on a little island and built the road—Windmill Rise—around it, and the houses grew up over the next 20 years. The little black cat motioned a hello to me as I wandered past but it was far too comfortable for anything more.

Upon its completion the Michigan Theater could seat 4,050 patrons, In addition to films in its prime years, the theatre hosted performances of bands led by John Philip Sousa, Benny Goodman, Jimmy Dorsey and Harry James as well as live performances by The Marx Brothers, Betty Grable and Bob Hope.[4]

The theater ceased operations in 1976 after operating as a nightclub named The Michigan Palace. The office tenants threatened to leave unless they received adequate parking. To retain the tenants, building owners gutted and converted the theater into a parking structure. The theater could not be completely demolished and replaced by a parking structure because it is integral to the structure of the office building. The ornate plaster ceiling of the theater auditorium and grand lobby, at the ninth floor level, are still intact, as are parts of the mezzanine, the 2nd and 3rd balcony foyers and their staircases. The projection booth is also still intact.
