"crazy tuesday" "Complementary Colours"
Created for theme of Complimentary Colors (red & green) in 😄 HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday .
Deadpool isn't one to always follow the rules.. but sometimes he just has to. We all do. Zoom in. ;-) So he's made himself comfortable in the sweet smelling Sweet Alyssum plant, reading the rules. Hope you have a Happy Crazy Tuesday!

Sedum florets.
The sedums are just coming out as we move into Autumn. And the bees are having tremendous fun!
I took this today in the front garden where there are a lot of sedums growing in drifts. I thought the dappled pinks might make it a suitable subject for this week’s Smile on Saturday’s Pretty in Pastel theme.
Although the image lacks a strong composition it does appeal to me as I love the patterns and symmetries of flowers. It’s a macro about a couple of inches across…
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image! Happy Smile on Saturday :)
[Handheld in diffuse sunlight.
Developed in Capture One trying to control the saturation (it’s meant to be pastels!) and getting a balance between softness and detail. Tried to take down some of the brighter pinks but kept the complementary green active for colour contrast. Went for as high a key as I could without losing the highlights or the pinks.
Processed in Affinity. Some gentle sharpening with Unsharp Mask. There was already quite a lot of pleasing DoF blur at the edges of the image but I added more with the DoF filter in Affinity; the filter was set to also enhance the Clarity in the centre. Used Curves in LAB mode to flatten (i.e. compressing) the contrast in the highlights.
White vignette.
Finally (playing around) added a white fill layer at low opacity on top to… er… whiten everything. Except not everything because I masked the centre out from the effect. It whitened the edges like the vignette but didn’t have the side effect of increasing the apparent colour contrast there (I think… it wasn’t quite the same anyway).]

From a recipe an elderly neighbour, Glad McDonald, gave my mother 50 years ago, it contains peaches, oranges, and maraschino cherries.
Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.
Red and green and blue and yellow are complementary colours, so opposites.

As the sun rose higher on that morning, it lit up all the textures and details of the sand. Clean of footprints or human impact, it was an extremely beautiful time.
Wettbewerb der Augen. Große Überraschung.

"Who has the biggest eyes", that was the name of the competition. And sometimes you experience surprises that blow you away ... That's what happened to my little friend Cy-Klopps when he thought he would just win this trendy contest ;-). The Poor. He was so sure. And then this giant blue eye stared at him. Well, if you want to get high on the stage of this world, you are not always safe from bad surprises ... But honestly, it's not that important either :-)

Yesterday I bought the turntable on which the two are flaunting – in a pretty little town called Weimar, a World Heritage and living and working place of many celebrities from the past and also the founding place for the Bauhaus school. It is a coaster for cold drinks, on which hologram circles confuse the view – if not already the drink does its best ...

#MacroMondays 2019 / August 05 / #ComplementaryColours / HMM and a great week to everyone!
For the Macro Mondays challenge "Complementary colours" ( August 5th 2019)
Part of my themed month of flowers and Japanese fans etc Here
Slightly on the red side of violet, with blue tints in the shadows ... nature does provide some wonderful colour combinations! These two iris petals combine the yellow/violet opposites in the colour wheel.
When I'm not photographing I try to find time for painting. I started using pastels, and soon learned that a keen eye for tints and shades of colours was something I needed to learn, as you can't mix colours on the canvas/paper. It is so difficult to get the colours accurate through the camera lens, with the lighting making a subtle difference too. And then there's such a range of monitors and screens to view the image, each with a differing colour balance!! So this challenge is really testing us all ;o)
There's a shot of the two iris petals in the first comment field, along with the the size-guide I use for MM. And the colour wheel I used as reference.
HMM to everyone, and have a great week ;o)

A late entry for Macro Monday - Complementary colours...opposites on the colour wheel.
I just got back from a few days away and felt like having a play with my camera. The light had gone so I used flash, something I'm not keen on as I feel the colours are not quite right. Anyway, it satisfied my need for a photo fix.
The powders are from my craft stash. HMM
5th August 2019:
The weather looked very iffy first thing while I was working on my Macro Mondays theme this morning, so I decided to use it for my photo for today as well.
Our orange scissors and the small blue ones too. Measures approx 5.5x4.5 cm.
The weather looks as though it's now going to cheer up, but I've taken so many photos recently that I've photoed myself out!
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
I like orange and blue together,
but I would never wear them.

A fresh cool Melon in Summertime tastes so good. But some People in Little World prefer to eat their Melon without pips. So another Job to do for the tiny Helpers before they can get started!
---------------------------------------

This bowl came back from Ghana with Ray's two aunties who went there as missionaries.
It's not thought to be African, but rather Portuguese, traded by sailors for goods such as tobacco, sugar cane, coffee etc. We like it as a fruit bowl.
Thank you for visiting my photostream. Happy start to the new week!💙🍊
Actually, not true. As everyone who knows me will testify, I hate the heat! We seem to have gone straight from Winter to high Summer here.
For this week's Crazy Tuesday group theme, Complementary Colours. I chose blue and orange.
From the hilltop there was a lot to be seen, but only for a moment these ships lay under the leaves of this tree. It was a lovely visual moment.
Don't be Panic about the Pandemic. Self Isolation and Social Distancing make the Planet re-breath. Have a wonderful time at your home.
This Composition meets the Rule of Thirds and interesting thing is, the colors are complementary to the opposite.
