From the True North Arts Prompt for this month, a serendipity compass!
Inside my compass are tiny round cards made from paintings by Susan Seddon Boulet. The pictures are inspisrational in themselves, and they also each represent something. On the backs each has a question, when I'm in need of directions I can open my compass and ask for them.
Ambassador Gitenstein participated in the launch of “Career Compass – Career Guidance Program for Law Students,” a program for law students interested in mentorships and internships for their future careers. The project by the Liderjust Association is funded by the U.S. Embassy’s Democracy Grants Program. In his remarks Ambassador Gitenstein urged students to follow their moral compass, sharing his own legal experience and offering examples from U.S. history. The outer fabric is rich upholstery weight brocade in cielo blue, café au lait and espresso browns. There is a bit of ecru as well. Elegant medallions, fleur de lis, and leafy scrolls. And, of course, a focal compass motif to help you on your way.
The lining material is ecru on cielo blue damask.
It measures H 14 in x L 12½ in (36 cm x L 32 cm). The straps measure 27 in (69cm).
