From Wiki - Compass Point at Bude, built by the Acland family in 1840 of local sandstone, it is based on the Temple of Winds in Athens. It was moved to its current position in 1880.
Ship's compass, found it at the YWCA Thrift shop. Apparently I outbid an actual Ship's Captain on this one, mwaha!

A cyclist actually overtaken a bus on the correct side !
Compass GX13 FSS in Chichester prior to working the flexible route 99 to Petworth.
On this occasion it didn't deviate from the main road at all ; apart from a couple of short riders in Chichester, the whole load of passengers - about ten of us - went all the way to Petworth.
