The Calatrava Massif is a compact ensemble of ridges of the Ordovician period located into SW in the Campo de Calatrava. This Massif, is intensely broken and limited by tectónic graben. The volcanic activity develops strombolian and phreatic eruptions with prevalence of last ones. The landformes generated by these eruptions, have modified the landscapes to open, wide deep and numerous explosives craters, commonly occupied by occasional watwe. The basal surge´s deposit occupy a wide extension.Source:https://www.uclm.es/profesorado/egcardenas/b1.htm

A gloreous fuchsia rose from my bouquet! Love all the ruffled, compact petals!

Tulum is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city serving as a major port for Cobá. The ruins are situated on 12-meter tall cliffs, along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayas; it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Tulum archaeological site is relatively compact compared with many other Maya sites in the vicinity, and is one of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites. Its proximity to the modern tourism developments along the Mexican Caribbean coastline and its short distance from Cancún and the surrounding "Riviera Maya" has made it a popular Maya tourist site in the Yucatan. Daily tour buses bring a constant stream of visitors to the site. The Tulum ruins are the third most-visited archaeological site in Mexico, after Teotihuacan and Chichen Itza. It is popular for the picturesque view of the Caribbean and a location just 128 km (80 mi) south of the popular beach resort of Cancún.

A large number of cenotes are located in the Tulum area such as Maya Blue, Naharon, Temple of Doom, Tortuga, Vacaha, Grand Cenote, Abejas, Nohoch Kiin and Carwash cenotes and cave systems.

The tourist destination is now divided into four main areas: the archaeological site, the pueblo (or town), the zona hotelera (or hotel zone) and the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka'an.

This morning I was trying to take a picture of Sydney when I saw Jessie observing herself in Jane's compact mirror. So I snapped this picture of her(and me).

I love my Sony RX100. It has over 20 MP, can fit in my pocket, has a great lens, and has a killer watercolor feature. I often find myself taking it with me rather than my Canon 40D DSLR. Most reviews say it's the best pocket digital camera you can buy. But do these compact cameras have a future given the advances in phone cameras? Phone cameras today are able to add so much more functionality via software, it's hard to see how these won't be relics.

Another awsome Sport Compact event at WSID.Loads of cars made the trek from all over Aus to compete.Almost capacity entries on the track & a great selection of hot cars on show.

The presentation standard of Sport Compact drag cars has really amazed me so far this year, with a lot of the top runner track cars looking like prestine show cars with candy pearl paint jobs, tastefull air brushing and graffix and tuff drag spec rims all round. these guys have definatly stepped it up a notch!

Took a whole lot of photo's throughout the day, but unfortunatly forgot my memory backup so was limited to 4G worth of space...Ahhhrr.

Anyway, enjoy and please let me know what you think.

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Having just replaced some batteries into his compact camera, he asked me if I had got the shot I wanted after he caught me pressing the shutter. I just loved the composition and light for this shot, the horizontal and vertical lines in the architecture against the multi-directional wrinkles on his skin and clothing. It's always nice to share a smile with a random subject after they catch you shooting. Enjoy!

A good deal for $20 - a far cry from the $975 for the 20 volume set.

These CN C40-8M's are funky, yet cool to look at. The shortened trucks, squashed yet spacious cab, cowl carbody, and even paint schemes make them a desirable catch.

One such example, CN C40-8M 2405, leads CSX K426 as it holds short of the signals at Nicholas Rd near Dayton, OH.

"Bomag landfill compactors are multipurpose, heavy-duty machines that provide optimal utilization of capacity allowing the best possible compaction of household, construction and industrial waste materials.

The Bomag refuse compactor surpasses industry standards with its intelligent machine concepts and design making for a durable and efficient package for all landfill sites."

Me he puesto a revisar memorias fotográficas y me topé con infinidad de imágenes de esta bella hoya compacta, que me sirven para recordar los habitantes del tiempo cálido y así acortar las horas que faltan para su regreso.

Yes, I am learning new things on my American adventure. Apparently these are what small cars are in America. I know this, because they all park on the compact spots.

This has to be the case surely...as the alternative can only be that vast numbers of people who drive these vehicles are completely illiterate.
