A short revival of the Silver Wraith name, being placed on a variant of the Silver Shadow.
Conception behind this odd little offspring went back to the desire of a long-wheelbase Silver Shadow for the US Market. Initially, the long-wheelbase model didn't have a separate name, but in 1976, with the introduction of the Silver Shadow II, the longer car was dubbed the Silver Wraith II.
The Wraith II is identified by all of alterations found on the Silver Shadow II and additionally an Everflex-covered roof (also available as an option on the Silver Shadow II), a smaller rear opera-style window (some customers deleted the smaller back window: for example Joe Bamford of JCB) and different wheel covers. Some Silver Wraith IIs were also fitted with electric divisions which took up the extra four inches of leg room in the rear. Vehicles fitted with the division are now considered highly desirable.
In all 2,135 of these cars were built during its 5 year lifespan, a majority of which were exported to the United States. Some however have been destroyed much like their Shadow brethren in movies, the most notable one being Caddyshack II, where a villain attempts to plant a bomb in one of the character's Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II, but finds two identical cars parked next to each other, resulting in him accidentally blowing up the wrong car!

A new toy - the controversional Sigma with the special Foveon sensor. A premium compact camera, in the general photographic public most known for the poor ISO performance, high noise levels, low battery life, complicated interface, "just" a 4.6 MPx effective resolution, and a primitive AF system. But there are not many people who actually have used this cameras, or generally Foveon cameras at all...
I bought it for 200 USD from it´s first owner, in perfect condition, with only 600 shots on the shutter (and with two batteries and two hoods). I was just curious about the technology, but it turned out that this is a really great camera for many situations. The metallic body is of premium quality, all perfectly set together. The lens is simply great, ISO 400 is still usable, but by normal occasions ISO 100 is all I need. The interface is better than I expected, easy to use, and manual focusing is extremely simple and effective. When correctly set, the battery holds for 300 shots with no problem. The saving of a picture needs some time, but by shooting with a prime - who is really in a rush? The images are full with details and very sharp, I think that this sensor can counter a 10 MPx Bayer pattern sensor when it comes about details. And the special crisp in the pictures, and the colors - I haven´t seen something like this by other cameras.
The Sigma DP1s is a premium-built camera with a big sensor, some years old but with image quality succesfully countering today´s low-end DSLRs, and any compact camera in the market. It´s not ideal for any situation - but it´s small, easy to wear everywhere, and it´s a lot of fun to use it.
And additionally - the DP1s wasn´t really sold in our country, it was sometimes offered but never sold regularly like the DP1 and DP1x, so it´s quite unique here - and I really like it to have something unique ;-)

A simpel 300W studio flash with a softbox was placed to the right. It points slighty upward and away from the background. The distance to the hand is minimal (less then a feet). The flash was triggered with an on-camera 430 EX that was equipped with a cardboard snoot. The directed light from the Speedlite created a nice diffuse reflection on the charcoal-colored plastic background. Skin tone corrections and dust cleanup were made in PS CS3.
Rechts vom Bild ist ein Studioblitz mit Softbox (300W, maximale Leistung). Dieser leuchtet leicht in Richtung Kamera nach oben, damit der Hinter- und Untergrund in Dunkelheit und Unschärfe versinkt. Hier fiel es mir schwer einen Kompromiss aus störendem Streulicht und richtiger Lichtgestaltung zu finden. Als Hintergrund hab ich eine ca. 50x50cm große und dunkle Kunststoffplatte verwendet. Den Studioblitz habe ich über einen Speedlite 430 EX mit einem Karton-Snoot auf der Kamera ausgelöst. Am Ende standen dann noch Farbkorrekturen (Hauttöne), Tonwertanpassungen und das Entfernen von Staub und Kratzern in PS CS3.
Today it is raining quite hard so Jackie said that I could walk Ruby and get wet and we did. I took my little compact camera in my pocket so we went on a fungi hunt. The last image was of Old Heathfield to show the weather conditions all the others are of wet fungi.
