Comparing the Canon IXUS 275 HS (built in 4.5-54.0mm zoom lens) v Canon EOS 600D with a budget (sub £70) Yongnuo 35mm prime lens...
The subject is a backlit (using a MiniSun LightPad - daylight balanced), etched, clear glass paperweight. That the angle and aspect ratio is very similar, is pure fluke!!! Honest! Both cameras were hand held. No tripod was harmed during this shoot LOL.
More interestingly, the IXUS recorded (EXIF) a focal length of 10.31mm (58.14mm equivalent), at ISO 200, aperture f4.5, and shutter speed 1/500, in P mode (there is no M mode). Whilst the EOS, with the prime 35mm lens (56mm equivalent), was ISO 200, aperture f2, and shutter speed 1/250, in M mode.
Whilst the result from the IXUS is a little harsh, with evidence of vignetting, it's a valiant effort from such a small camera with a tiny lens. Then again, with the EOS, the glass in a Chinese budget prime lens is hardly going to be exceptional.

A Compact Disc (also known as a CD) is an optical disc used to store digital data, originally developed for storing digital audio. The CD, available on the market since late 1982, remains the standard playback medium for commercial audio recordings to the present day.
Standard CDs have a diameter of 120 mm and can hold up to 80 minutes of audio. There is also the Mini CD, with diameters ranging from 60 to 80 mm; they are sometimes used for CD singles, storing up to 24 minutes of audio.
The technology was later adapted and expanded to include data storage CD-ROM, write-once audio and data storage CD-R, rewritable media CD-RW, Super Audio CD (SACD), Video Compact Discs (VCD), Super Video Compact Discs (SVCD), PhotoCD, PictureCD, CD-i, and Enhanced CD. CD-ROMs and CD-Rs remain widely used technologies in the computer industry. The CD and its extensions have been extremely successful: in 2004, worldwide sales of CD audio, CD-ROM, and CD-R reached about 30 billion discs. By 2007, 200 billion CDs had been sold worldwide.

After I showed you my Nikonos SB 105 here are two more things from my under water photography stuff I bought already. This is a normal diving lamp, but really small and powerfuel. Before this I got the larger brother "mini compact". But I will use this as a focus lamp and so it has to be light and small.

The Sandugo was a blood compact, performed in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. "Sandugo" is a Visayan word which means "one blood".

Minolta XG9 + Rokkor 45mm f2.0 - $750 PESOS ARGENTINOS
Réflex liviana y compacta con lente 45mm.
Ésta es la XG9 de Minolta, una réflex simple y compacta. Tiene el tamaño de una cámara de visor directo, incluso es más pequeña y liviana que la Yashica electro35. La estructura del cuerpo es de metal, los paneles que la recubren son de plástico. La XG9 fue diseñada para ser usada en prioridad apertura. De esta forma, uno selecciona la apertura a la que quiere trabajar y, en el visor, el fotómetro indica a través de leds la velocidad en la que va a disparar el obturador. El obturador es electrónico y en el modo automático cubre todas las velocidades desde 1s hasta 1/1000. Para usarla en modo manual es necesario primero medir en modo automático, recordar el par y trasladarlo al modo manual. Por alguna razón, la gente de Minolta no pudo lograr (o no quiso) que el fotómetro funcionara en modo manual.
El lente es un rokkor 45mm f2. Este lente tiene cierta mÃstica entre los usuarios de Minolta. Existe una magia que los define aunque yo no pueda ponerlo en palabras. Hay algo cremoso en las imágenes que produce, y al mismo tiempo vibrante. En la Internet existen miles de páginas que tratan de describir este fenómeno pero lo mejor es que vean por ustedes mismos. El lente es un 6 elementos en 4 grupos con recubrimiento multi-capa. Es un lente económico, compacto y buenÃsimo. Para muchos, la mejor relación precio calidad que puede obtenerse (yo creo que los hexanon son mejores).
El cuerpo y el lente están 10 puntos, parecen recién salidos de caja.
