This morning I was trying to take a picture of Sydney when I saw Jessie observing herself in Jane's compact mirror. So I snapped this picture of her(and me).

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Having just replaced some batteries into his compact camera, he asked me if I had got the shot I wanted after he caught me pressing the shutter. I just loved the composition and light for this shot, the horizontal and vertical lines in the architecture against the multi-directional wrinkles on his skin and clothing. It's always nice to share a smile with a random subject after they catch you shooting. Enjoy!
These CN C40-8M's are funky, yet cool to look at. The shortened trucks, squashed yet spacious cab, cowl carbody, and even paint schemes make them a desirable catch.
One such example, CN C40-8M 2405, leads CSX K426 as it holds short of the signals at Nicholas Rd near Dayton, OH.
If we would live in Malmö, this would be our place.

Yesterday (za 10/10) i decided to go and check out the Clingendael park. It's a wonderful and huge place with a rich history prior to it becoming a public park (1953). In addition it has the largest Japanese garden in the Netherlands, which i unfortunately didn't visit. The reason for not visiting is that it got rather small paths and a lot of people. Even tho Clingendael is a great place, i wouldn't recommend going there for the purpose of capturing insects. It's great for mushrooms in autumn and flowers in spring and summer, but it's quite busy and not really the place for spotting wildlife. Next week i'll explore the Cronesteyn, which somebody recommended to me.

Hello guys, I'm just finding tune with my HDR skills. Still very unrealistic, I wanna go for the natural HDR appeal but I guess the overtly details enhancer is so tempting. This was taken as test shots when I first got my S5 IS, hence the annoying handshakes hehe. I think architecture ain't my niche but heck, I'll give it a shot.
PS: I need a crash course on strobing

there are sometimes those odd days when know what? i just don't care about flare and burnout....this was one! the raw power of our sun, omnipotent but caressing, enfolding, burning.
Just seconds before the lighthouse lamp had given up its ghost in acknowledgement, you can just see the last tiny heatflicker at its centre.
It's not often you can get this close to north pier lighthouse Tynemouth from the north seaward rocks at low tide as it cuts you off so ferociously on the incoming. This one was worth the risk though. I was lucky to be able to get a handful of shots with rays coming behind and wrapping around the lighthouse as the sun moved gradually higher and to the right. This was taken with my little compact. No time for long exposure though :)
it was also only moments before my previous post "Where mermaids play" [http://www.flickr.com/photos/43060509@N03/6421739775/in/photostream/] -as once safe and further back I wanted to show the scene in total softness with the DSLR.

Most cars of the Palmen Collection were from Italian and British origin, followed by French cars. In fourth and fifth place were the German and American automobiles. From this last category was Chevrolet strong represented. There were even three Chevrolets Corvair on the viewing days present.
This one was only coupé version. It is from the first generation.
The Corvair was a so called compact car. It was designed by a team led by Bill Mitchell (1912-1988).
Seen at the viewing days of the Palmen Barnfind Collection Auction initiated by Gallery Aaldering, Brummen and provided by Classic Car Auctions, location Dordrecht.
