These CN C40-8M's are funky, yet cool to look at. The shortened trucks, squashed yet spacious cab, cowl carbody, and even paint schemes make them a desirable catch.
One such example, CN C40-8M 2405, leads CSX K426 as it holds short of the signals at Nicholas Rd near Dayton, OH.
Yesterday (za 10/10) i decided to go and check out the Clingendael park. It's a wonderful and huge place with a rich history prior to it becoming a public park (1953). In addition it has the largest Japanese garden in the Netherlands, which i unfortunately didn't visit. The reason for not visiting is that it got rather small paths and a lot of people. Even tho Clingendael is a great place, i wouldn't recommend going there for the purpose of capturing insects. It's great for mushrooms in autumn and flowers in spring and summer, but it's quite busy and not really the place for spotting wildlife. Next week i'll explore the Cronesteyn, which somebody recommended to me.

Me he puesto a revisar memorias fotográficas y me topé con infinidad de imágenes de esta bella hoya compacta, que me sirven para recordar los habitantes del tiempo cálido y así acortar las horas que faltan para su regreso.
Feliz semana !!
I used to have a small compact camera Fuji S1600, a low tech auto-everything point and shoot camera.
Ever since I got my compact Fuji X10, I have been shooting less often with this small camera.
I do not want to dump it as it is still working fine. However once in a while I would pick it up and give it a shot. By that it stays active and I make sure everything is still working in the camera.
So I took it out the other day and shot a simple still life at my kitchen with the Coke mugs collection from my wife.
The auto-everything camera is working fine I think!
Wish you a great Wednesday!

This ‘compact-reflex’ SLR camera was manufactured from 1977 onwards by the Japanese company Cosina (named Cosina CSM) for Porst in Nuremberg. Its M42 lens is an outstanding, fast lens that still impresses today with its sharpness and optical performance. CdS light metering and an electromechanical focal-plane shutter were, along with other features, state of the art for their time. It also still works perfectly and is in good condition, having always been well looked after. A flash is also included!
The Physic Garden of the Worshipful Company of Barbers at Barber-Surgeons’ Hall is sheltered by a medieval bastion that was added to the City of London's Roman wall. It holds a selection of 45 plants from Gerard's Herbal, as Gerard was Master of their Company. The dash of colour is Rosa gallica var. officinalis, the Apothecary's Rose and the Red Rose of Lancaster. They have an excellent guide online the only information on site is the names and provenance of the plants.
For most of the macro lenses fitted to DSLR, the focal length is on the side of telephoto such as 60mm, 90mm or 105mm and even longer. The angle of vision is narrow.
One thing good in the feature of super-macro in compact camera is that they always offer the super-macro at the wide end of the zoom range (i.e. 28mm in my Fuji X10). So you can shoot the subject close up while you can still have a wide angle of vision field.
I like to have the fence in my view and at the same time I like to shoot the snowdrop close up.
Here is what the Fuji X10 did it for me.
We have a gloomy day after the sun yesterday. This is my shot of snowdrop in my neighborhood this morning.
Wish all of you a great Sunday!
The McGill lineup during their game against Concordia.
Not so sure why, but this looks like a strong photograph to me. Is it because of the compression at 300mm that give the impression of a really tight group of players ? Anyways, I hope you'll like it too.
