Wet Weekend Commute
11 January 2014 -- 11/365
Providence, Rhode Island
I had to work today, and with a major hardware upgrade scheduled it promised to be an extremely long day. With that in mind, I stopped at Kennedy Plaza on my way in, knowing that I'd likely not get an opportunity to get out for a photo during the day. There was a light rain falling, and the skies were just starting to display a hint of the early morning glow. Despite it being a weekend, there were still a surprising number of commuters waiting at the transportation center downcity.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
My commute this week. Absolutely gorgeous, a trip back in time to my youth when I used to live in this environment. Some people find this horrible, terrifying, inhospitable. I find it the most peaceful and calming environment possible.

I arrive at LMC before dawn. We have a new solar collection system in the parking lot that looks like magic as the sun comes up.

Here is were we begin (or end) .... at home. Our little 1950's house with the tiniest kitchen and an itty bitty bathroom...but enough bedrooms for everyone! :)
*I live in a land where no one commutes! (Yes, there are a few places like that left)....but I choose to drive half an hour to work each day. People here think I am crazy!!!! It is the most beautiful drive which travels from the beach, through redwoods, past rivers and lagoons. I want to challenge myself to take a picture of my magnificent trek every work day in October with Vea. Hope you enjoy it!
