With me wearing my headlamp and Kiyomi wearing her reflective collar with LEDs flashing, we took a long walk from our house to the park, ran offleash for a while, and walked back.
I've been trying different routes to get from Santa Monica to Manhattan Beach in the afternoons. I like this route - it isn't the fastest, but it is a lot easier on the eyes than the 405.
8:46 am: The Queens-bound 7 train is my personal favorite in the morning. Frequent trains, few people and plenty of vacant seats. I don't really understand why so many people want to take the uber-crowded shuttle to Grand Central.

apparently the miniDV tapes loosen up on the camcorder recording head every time i hit a bump, which is why you see a previous recording peeking through.
looks like i'll need to design a mini-stabilizer for the bike.
the actual ride's about 8 minutes.
I'd been thinking a lot about my Tuesday commute these past couple of weeks, about how much it DOES NOT SUCK.

A 2012 Honda Fireblade weighs 441 pounds soaking wet, or about 10 pounds heavier than a Mercedes-Benz CLK550... engine. :-)
If you're like me and stopping here to smooch your wife before and/or after work, I recommend the chai latte in the chilly morning or the frozen green tea in the blazing afternoon.
