I never stopped admiring these monster trucks - they are not only bigger then most European trucks, but also nicer and cleaner (I think their drivers are often proud of their vehicle - put more lights on them, etc). / Mindig is nagyon tetszettek ezek a hatalmas amerikai teherautók - nemcsak nagyobbak az európaiaknál, de szebbek és tisztábbak is (szerintem a sofőrök kimondottan büszkék járművükre, pl. feldíszítik extra fényforrásokkal, stb.).

Driving along Ellgin Mills Rd - after many trials I found that it is still better to stay up in the Northern routes and move West, since traffic only becomes worse further South towrds downtown Toronto.

I took these shots a July morning during my daily commute - over the previous 2 years I got used to the 60 minutes drive every morning - I listened to the radio, and later audiobooks while driving. The pictures were meant as a memory, since by then we were preparing to move from Ontario.

my daily commute in September

An offsite meeting gave me a different view on my commute today. I really enjoyed it but after about 40 mins of going 10 km/hr, I was a bit less enthused Luckily, I rarely drive in downtown rush hour.

Akemi reading on the train during our morning commute to work.

My new apartment is in Tianhe, which is a nice and happening neighbourhood near Central Guangzhou. I take the legendarily crowded #3 metro to work and the crowds are really quite something, almost Tokioesque.

Today I had another in the car with me for part of the morning commute - my dog, who desperately needed to go to the groomer. My dog is not really a dog, I don't think. For one, he is a retriever, yet he does not know how to play fetch. He hates walks. He loves going in the car but then...he lays down!!! I roll down the windows, but does he act like every other dog and stick his head out? Noooo. Weirdo.

this is some of my usual bike commute home after work. This is Ivy Lake road north of Peoria, IL. It runs along the Illinois River bluffs.

I slipped and landed next to this pretty bough that looked like it belonged on the front of a Christmas Card.

Cycling home from Wapping to Walthamstow after a nightshift. A glorious crisp morning and sunrise. Pity I didn't have my compact Canon with me.

Same commute as the gutter shot, but also liked the shot. Love my Bern Watts helmet, and you have to love the early generation Gore Bike Wear Paclite jacket. Think it's from 2005. Colorway is showing some age, but it still's waterproof.

With me wearing my headlamp and Kiyomi wearing her reflective collar with LEDs flashing, we took a long walk from our house to the park, ran offleash for a while, and walked back.

On trains home from London, I tend to opt to sit on the floor: I avoid the cramped seats, and get to stretch my legs a bit.

Commuting, the process of travelling between a place of residence and a place of work.

The clouds clear, the sun shines, the sign says Morecambe, only 10 more minutes before I'm home. Thanks to the holiday traffic it will have taken me nearly twice as long as the usual hour or so to make the journey. We've traveled a little over 50 miles and covered almost the entire length of the historic county of Lancashire. My 2001st commute home has, like most of the previous 2000, been uneventful but I find they're preferable to the eventful ones. It wasn't so bad, a boring couple of hours, sure, but at least it's summer and I was driving in daylight. The winter drives in darkness and bad weather are a real pain. Thanks for traveling with me, I don't think I'd have made it without you ;-)

This is a building that is part of a horse stable business just off of Singing Woods Road.
