We commuted to the conference using BART. We attended both early morning keynotes (which is a major thing... since I never wake up early). After full day filled with back-to-back lectures (we all went to different lectures), we limped along back to the BART station and went home.
Notice my laptop bag which is not hanging on my shoulder (which is great).
I'd been thinking a lot about my Tuesday commute these past couple of weeks, about how much it DOES NOT SUCK.
And then an invitation to this Flickr group landed in my inbox from ms. hilpany.
More pics from my commute here.
Tomorrow, the return trip home.

Yesterday and last night we were supposed to get a "dusting" of snow. It turned into about 3 inches and our commute time turned into a lot longer than we expected. I think most commuters were caught off guard just like we were. So very typical Minnesotan.
Commuting lives photo project. Commuting to work each day can be a challenging experience and daily I meet hundreds of people, pledged at the same times and same trains.
It's interesting to distinguish how each of us spends these moments differently during the travel: there's who sleeps recovering energy, who reads a book, who is looking forward to the arrival, who divulges his or her feelings in front of a friend but above all, and here it is clear the cultural change occurred in recent years, there's who prefers alienating from it all using their smartphone.
The photograpy raises the curiosity that each of us possesses to a higher level, making the photographer able to analyse the subject even before shooting.
I have spent many of these trips between Monza and Milan to better understand these elements of humanity among the passengers: facial and body expressions, interactions between people, style and good or bad habits.
As you can see my cycling commute route is anything but straight. I detour South and East from work to get to the Sammamish River trail. Then I take that route north and detour around some highways East to use a bypass bike route and then head back West to go home. 14.58 miles one way. It could easily be 10 miles if there existed a safe direct route.
you don't need a $2000 Dutch bike to commute, just the will to do it. also, flat terrain makes it easier.
I took this photo from the bus window during a wretched commute that lasted from 4 p.m. until quarter to nine. There was nothing to do on the bus but take photos, so I did...
From my most recent project I photographed for University.
‘Commute’ is a technical exercise in which I limit myself by using an iPhone to capture my images and by only using three black and white filters to edit with.
STARTS WITH "M" is the topic for Tuesday February 7
