"Please stand behind the yellow line when trains are coming in and out of the station"

Parker's Piece, Cambridge. This was about 4.30pm, lots of people passing on their way home, kids from the local secondary school hanging out with their friends.

Commuting lives photo project. Commuting to work each day can be a challenging experience and daily I meet hundreds of people, pledged at the same times and same trains.

Tuesday January 15th.

It hailed and slushed and snowed for a few hours last night and then the temperature dropped overnight and everything froze. This is probably normal in many places around the country/world but its pretty rare in Seattle and it totally played havoc with the commute downtown.

I live very close to downtown and take the bus every day. On an average day it takes me about 20 minutes to get from home to work. However, I'm constantly AMAZED at how my 20 minute commute easily becomes 1.5 hour (or more) trip on days with nasty weather. Seattle just breaks in incliment weather.

I took this picture at the bus stop after waiting 60 minutes in freezing temperatures for my bus that usually comes every 15 minutes. There are about 40 people standing around me.

8:19 am: Riverside Drive close to Grant's Tomb. One of "New York's strongest" is just about to throw the door from apartment 5D into the garbage truck.

The dark is the suggested path from Google Earth.

The light is the drive I do to avoid the traffic...

ready to leave for work...the actual commute has already been recorded, so I won't repeat myself.
