During Marion Matters ( campus-wide community service projects) last Friday, new students got the chance to help the community. Students were split into groups that had different projects throughout the Perry County Community. The National Recreation and Park Association's Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies provides quality assurance and improvement of accredited park and recreation agencies throughout the United States with a management system of best practices.
Fewer than 200 agencies hold the CAPRA accreditation, which is the only national accreditation of park and recreation agencies. CAPRA is a valuable measure of an agency’s overall quality of operation, management, and service to the community.
Gwinnett Parks and Recreation demonstrated compliance in more than 150 standards, policies, and procedures. Gwinnett received its CAPRA accreditation during the 2022 Annual Conference, joining the ranks of top park and recreation agencies across the country.

Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's MEU Service Support Group 31 put a coat of paint on the wall of a local women's shelter in Guam. The volunteers spent the day painting and enjoying a lunch of cultural foods.

Silver and Gold Area Team Sponsored Students participating in a city wide volunteer effort in Folsom,California. Our group was responsible for sorting donated LEGOS and packaging them up to be given to children who have experienced abuse.
Many students stayed on campus for one week of their holiday vacation to take part in Restoration Week - an annual service learning project. This year's students helped with projects at Siloam Baptist Church and in the local elementary schools. Visit our page on Facebook for more photos!
