DA NANG, Vietnam (April 23, 2013) Vietnamese military members of Military Region 5 cross the quarterdeck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) for a tour of the ship. Chung-Hoon and USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) are in Da Nang for a Naval Exchange Activity (NEA). The NEA provides opportunities for U.S. and Vietnamese naval professionals to share best practices and exchange maritime skills. Maritime skill exchanges between the two navies are non-combatant events, such as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, medical training, fire fighting and damage control, search and rescue, diving and salvage, sports and community service projects.
