LCC faculty recognized students who have achieved academic excellence this year.
Ben Soleim earned the Outstanding Student Award for Speech and was also chosen for the All-Washington Academic Team and the ASLCC 2015 Hall of Honors.
Former student, Alisha McLeod was recognized as the Chemical Dependency Outstanding Student. Her mother Marie accepted the award on her behalf.
In total forty-five awards were presented during the evening.

The Carl Sandburg College softball team picked up its first Arrowhead Conference victory of the season in a doubleheader split with Illinois Valley yesterday at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex. 17th District Congressional Representative Cheri Bustos visits Carl Sandburg College on Thursday, April 4. Bustos met with Sandburg President Dr. Lori Sundberg and toured the Main Campus with stops in academic areas pertaining to the medical field including nursing, medical imaging and mortuary science.

Sophomore outside hitter McKenna Weaver (Limestone) had team highs in kills, digs and aces as the Carl Sandburg College volleyball team beat perennial Arrowhead Conference power Kishwaukee 25-12, 25-22, 13-25, 25-20 on Tuesday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

Outstanding Graduates Bonnie Bailey and Samuel Wilson, both of Wheaton, praised their fellow graduates during College of DuPage’s 55th annual Commencement ceremony for their resilience in completing their studies during a world-wide pandemic. The event, held on Friday, May 20, was the first in-person COD graduation ceremony since before the pandemic. More than 700 graduates celebrated as they walked across the stage and received their diplomas from COD President Dr. Brian Caputo.

More than 3000 visitors experienced hands-on activities at STEMCON at College of DuPage. The day-long event highlighted science, technology, engineering and math through interactive booths, specialized workshops and an explosive presentation by Kate the Chemist.
