Governor Pat Quinn today saluted Illinois' veterans, servicemembers and their families during a Veterans Day ceremony at Chicago's Soldier Field. Governor Quinn has made our veterans and servicemembers a top priority throughout his career in public service. Today's event is part of Governor Quinn's longstanding commitment to honor, protect and support the men and women who have served our nation.

As part of its local community efforts and commitment to conservation, Manheim Pennsylvania teamed up with American Rivers on Saturday, June 9 to clean the Conestoga River in Lancaster County Central Park.
More than 100 Manheim employees and their family members cleaned up debris from the river and surrounding park area from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. American Rivers volunteers joined in the clean-up efforts.

In its 24th year, the Perlman Cup golf outing for women was designed to accommodate beginners as well as experienced golfers. Dedicated to the memory of Bessie Cutter Perlman, the mother of Special Olympics New Jersey, this event honored her commitment to individuals with intellectual disabilities and her hope for a more inclusive community.

Nissan is renewing its commitment to the mid-size pickup segment, long a part of its sales success in the United States, with the creation of the Frontier Diesel Runner Powered by CumminsŞ. This project truck, based on a Frontier Desert Runner 4x2 model, serves to both gauge the market reaction to a Nissan mid-size pickup with a diesel engine and plot a potential future direction for the Frontier.

Region X Commitment to Safety Award winners: Irene Porter and Ernest Gubry, Airports Division
The University of Michigan men’s basketball team was on a plane on their way to the Big Ten Tournament on March 8, 2017, when a mechanical issue resulted in a rejected takeoff at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Mich.
“We’re careening off the runway and into a field. Oh no, I think. Oh, God! Oh no! This is actually happening. We actually might die,” said team member Moe Wagner.
No one died, and everyone was safe, as a direct result of the work of NATCA-represented Airports Division (ARP) members Irene Porter and Ernest Gubry, who initiated, designed, planned, environmentally cleared, and funded the construction of a fully compliant runway safety area (RSA) at Willow Run.
For their work, Porter and Gubry were presented with NATCA’s annual Region X Commitment to Safety Award at #NATCACFS2018. natca.org/…/2588-commitment-to-safety-award-2018-na…
