ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Aug. 19, 2025) U.S. Naval Academy holds the annual 2nd class commitment luncheon in King Hall. This is a celebration after signing their “2 for 7” agreements indicating their decision, after two years of academy training, to devote the next seven years to the Navy or Marine Corps. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Arkansas Department of Education/Division of Elementary and Secondary Education held a press conference in Arkansas Capitol Rotunda Friday morning. High school and college students who plan to become educators to come to the Capitol and pledge their commitment to the profession. The Teacher of the Year, Secretary of Education and Governor provided remarks and all participants sign a certificate of commitment to become an educator.

The Laredo Chamber of Commerce hosted an awards ceremony on October 25 at the Laredo County Club to recognize 12 members of the Laredo community.
Laredo City Manager Horacio de Leon, Jr. was presented with the Order of Los Dos Laredos Award from the chamber for his commitment to the welfare of the Laredo business community.
City of Laredo Purchasing Agent Miguel Pescador was also presented with the Comeback Kid Award for his renewed commitment to the chamber’s cause, particularly in support of the launching of the new Laredo Chamber of Commerce brand.
On August 9, 2010, the incoming first-year law students began their Legal Analysis course and took the Pledge of Professional Commitment, administered by Judge Edmondson of the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
