n 1939 Dr Roger Steeds, general practitioner joined the three Staddon brothers who were in practice at 6 Silent Street. Just before the war, the building was threatened with demolition because of road widening. The practice moved to 18 Silent Street. It was said to be a purpose built building with three consulting rooms, dispensary, reception area and waiting room and caretaker’s flat. However, the building was wrecked by a bomb during the war but re-erected in 1946. After the war as each of the Staddon brothers retired, they were replaced in turn by Dr Roy Webb, Dr Sheila Hines and Dr Bunt Drabble. Dr Steeds retired In 1966.

Nothing tastes better than an Ondylion steak. So a lot of Avalonians come here to get some. And it's not just the steak, also the chicken is outstanding.
And well, people from Kaliplin like to come here to cool off. And checking out the Mitgardian girls, but they will never admit that!

Dès que l'on quitte Libreville, fleurit au bord des route une vitrine de produits locaux composé de vieux barils rouillés surmontés d'une planche. Y sont exposés sans hiérarchie, des noix de coco, du manioc, des sachets au contenu varié (souvent du gari), du vin de palme....au verre, des bananes (de toutes sortes), des atangas et autres spécialités.
Une tige de bois d'arbre planté dans un des barils, sur lequel est solidement arrimé la recette de la chasse quotidienne. S' y balance au grès du vent du singe, du croco, de l'antilope et autres espèces locales d'écureuil, de castors tropicaux et de sangliers équatoriens.

01.11.13. Hajvery University (HU) Organised a Grand Orientation & Welcome Party to Welcome the new Students at HU on 30 Oct, 2013 at HU Euro Campus. The Orientation featured Presentations & Speeches by Senior Professors and Cadre of HU Management. It was designed to familiarize the incoming students with all aspects of living & studying at HU, and about the various Opportunities which are available to students, from student led societies, study & work abroad programs, volunteer and research work. Orientation Program was followed by Hi-tea and Musical Evening to provide a memorable beginning to Students 4-5 -years Journey at the University.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalid Pervaiz, HU Rector, kicked off the Orientation Session with a Presentation on HU, its Campuses, Facilities, Faculties and their determination to deliver the best education in HU Class Rooms. Director Administration, Maj. General ® Muhammad Latif was next to speak, he emphasised the importance of making the most of University years, and adhering to the rules of the University to ensure an excellent Academic and University Track Record. Departmental Presentations were given by Deans, Heads of Departments & Faculty of various Schools. Prof. Dr. Naeem Khan Afridi, Dean HU School of Engineering & CS delivered a presentation on Emerging Trends in Engineering which was very appreciated by the audience, he shared with the Students that HU School of Engineering is accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council & HEC. Dr. Lubna Shakir, Faculty Member, School Of Pharmacy introduced Pharmaceutical Labs & facilities at HU. She also shared that HU Pharmacy Programs are among the best in Pakistan, and fully accredited by Pakistan Pharmacy Council. Prof. Talat Hamdany, Faculty Member English Department spoke about the importance of learning English to compete in the globalised economy of 21st century.
Prof. Nadia Niazi, Faculty Member, HU School of Fashion & Design spoke about the virtues of Fashion Education at HU. Ms. Annie Emily, HU Faculty Member in School of Media Studies introduced the Media Studies Programs to the new Students. Mr. Umer Sheikh, Director Office of Foreign Affairs & Planning delivered a Presentation on the numerous Study Abroad Opportunities and Highlighted Hajvery University’s achievements in fostering International Relations with 50+ leading Universities around the world where HU Students are eligible to apply for Exchange Semesters.
Mr. Fahd Sheikh, HU Director delivered the closing speech and emphasised that the future is bright for all the students who endeavor to make the most of all the wonderful and amazing opportunities that Hajvery University (HU) provides to its students, inside and outside the classrooms. The Orientation Program was following by a delicious Hi-Tea for the students and faculty alike. The Orientation Concluded with a Musical Evening at the HU Campus Lawns to allow the incoming students to begin one of the most important journeys of their lives with a memorable evening.

Hence the name may have had a special appeal for the religious founders of the city, although the adjacent bay had already borne the name Rehoboth for at least a century before the town was founded.
In September CAMP Rehoboth Community Center / Letters from CAMP magazine hosts an annual Labor Day weekend event called SUNDANCE with an fundraiser auction and dance party at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
CAMP Rehoboth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, gay and lesbian community service organization, originally developed to “Create A More Positive” relationship among all the people of the Rehoboth Beach area.
Each October Rehoboth Beach hosts the Annual Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers Festival ( Happy Halloween - The Blessed Samhain Festival - Autumn Holidays Celebration) with a parade, Trick or Treat, and the very popular broom tossing event right at the beach.
There is a summer bus service that makes it easy for beach goes to travel easily between Rehoboth Beach Delaware and Ocean City Maryland.

1918Adolph Schleicher starts Samson Tire and Rubber Company in a tiny wood-frame factory in Compton, choosing "Samson" because it symbolized strength and endurance.
January 1928
Adolph Schleicher, owner of Samson Tire and Rubber Company, embarks on development of a new factory in East Los Angeles - one that would become the largest manufacturing facility under one roof west of the Mississippi.
January 1929
Ground breaking for the $8 million Samson Tire and Rubber Company plant, the largest tire manufacturing facility on the West Coast (attended by 12,000 people). Modeled after the 7th century BC Assyrian Palace of King Sargon II, the wall surrounding the plant is designed to feature heraldic griffins and bas-reliefs of Babylonian princes.
October 1929
Stock market crashes.
May 1930
Samson Tire and Rubber Company plant opens with no public ceremony and with capacity to produce 5,000 tires and 10,000 tubes a day. That same year the famous castle building is known as The Citadel.
January 1931
US Tire and Rubber Company purchases and takes over the newly completed Samson Tire and Rubber Company.
September 1960
Adolph Schleicher, owner of Samson Tire and Rubber Company dies.
1962
US Tire and Rubber Company becomes Uniroyal Tire.
March 1978
Uniroyal closes the plant.
1982
California State Historical Resources Commission approves the site nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
October 1983
City of Commerce purchases the property for $14 million as part of an effort to prevent demolition of the landmark building.
November 1989
Trammel Crow Company signs a long-term ground lease with the City of Commerce Redevelopment Agency.
January 1990
Trammel Crow Company breaks ground for a $118 million, 742,000 square foot mixed-use project including a factory outlet retail center, five office buildings, a food court and a 201-room Wyndham Garden Hotel.
