First two spreads of my zeta book..and some comments.
The paper is SO different from what I am used to but it has to be the nicest pen my lamy has ever come across!
Using a spiral bound book is a huge change… but without intending to I tried to connect the two pages in the first spread.
Of course I have to draw the cup that is on the label as my first sketch in the book!(groan groan!)
The sketch on the right is nothing special but highly significant for me as a record! A huge huge reshuffle in my study/workroom/sewing corner - getting rid of a lot of stuff and furniture that I have had since my uni days…and making it into a home office/studio.
I am really looking forward to challenge of completely different paper and format for sketchbook and have some ideas of different ways to work.
The palette on the title page is very very odd. it is made up of 4 different triads plus cobalt teal blue!
Facebook (famille et amis) et les photos à regarder sur mon ordinateur prennent beaucoup de mon temps. Je fais sûrement à arriver à trouver du temps pour venir faire un tour sur vos galeries.

Completely flabbergasted at the comments and awards given on this one, wasnt expecting anything really! I just posted it coz I liked the reflection on the top of the car and because id spent ages driving around looking for something to take photos of and this was really all I came back with :o( So unbothered was I by this shot that I didnt even waste any time HDRing or processing, just a little warming on Picnik :o)
After a week of some very heavy rain at times these orchids have appeared in the sand dunes locally.
Many thanks to you ALL for the views, faves and comments you make on my shots it is very appreciated.

Into November's photos now, and I was quite pleased with this set. No exciting occasion to dress up for this time though, just a night in at home.
Raw ingredients plus a finished montage of photos. :-)

Scientific name: Zygaena filipendulae
Wetenschappelijk: Zygaena filipendulae
Kenmerken
Voorvleugel lengte: 15-19 mm.
Voorkomen
Zeer algemeen. Komt verspreid over het hele land voor. RL: niet bedreigd.
Habitat
Bloemrijke graslanden, wegbermen, kalkgraslanden, weilanden, brede bospaden en duinen.
Waardplanten
Gewone rolklaver en moerasrolklaver.
Vliegtijd en gedrag
Eind mei-eind augustus in één generatie.
vlindernet
The six-spot burnet (Zygaena filipendulae) is a day-flying moth of the family Zygaenidae. It is a common species throughout Europe.
The sexes are similar and have a wingspan of 30–40 mm (1.2–1.6 in). The fore wings are dark metallic green with six vivid red spots (sometimes the spots are merged causing possible confusion with other species such as the five-spot burnet). Occasionally, the spots are yellow or even black. The hind wings are red with a blackish fringe. The adults fly on hot, sunny days from June to August and are attracted to a wide variety of flowers such as knapweed and scabious, as well as the larval food plants bird's foot trefoil and clover. The species overwinters as a larva.
The larva is plump and hairy with variable markings, usually pale green with rows of black spots. It pupates in a papery cocoon attached to foliage.

Description: 2014-8-16: After taking a break for almost more than a month from sunset shooting (due to erratic weather and workload at the office), I was finally able to spend the time for a quick sunset sesssion. Not being able to decide earlier on the shooting location, I finally started my car and made my way to place that I very seldom shoot during sunset in the city. Alhamdulillah, the weather stays clear in the evening and I am glad that I decided to step back from the usual viewpoint that I usually shoot. Hopefully the weather further improves in the next few days. The image is also part of the image sequence taken for my time-lapse session that evening. Do visit my profiles at Facebook/Vimeo/Youtube for the result later.
Thank you for stopping by.

Cindy's comment t about being a country girl on my last post I find rather funny because I am as far from a country bod that you could imagine, Being born in London on the door step of a big tourist attraction Camden Market and living in a council flat, thoughts of the country were but pipe dreams, although we did have Hampstead heath, Parliament hill fields, regents park and primrose hill on our doorstep place we used so much especially in the summer. I suppose that's where I I got the country girl image from and when I moved out it all just fitted nicely.
Yeah it's a hard life at times in as much as the weather does really interfere with normal life when it goes wrong, unlike London where we just carried on. Do I miss the smoke? I do or at least I miss the lifestyle the fast way of life always something to do something going on. but would I change it for my life now?
Nah I don't think so.

I had a very nice day on the day I visited Putrajaya. It could have been hotter there, but I don't know how. The best part was the cool shower afterwards.
Putrajaya is the new capital area Kuala Lumpur. It is the most sterile and lifeless place I have ever visited. But there is very nice architecture for photography... so I guess it's not all bad.

On April 23rd I walked to a nearby storm water pond. There was still a little bit of ice. This was a really busy day on the small pond!

Whistling Kite - has a nest and mate nearby
Scientific Name: Haliastur sphenurus
Description: The Whistling Kite is a medium-sized raptor (bird of prey) with a shaggy appearance. It has a light brown head and underparts, with pale streaks, and dark sandy-brown wings with paler undersides. The underwings have a characteristic pale 'M' shape when open. The head and body are relatively narrow and the tail is rounded. The wings are long and well-rounded, with a wingspan of 120 cm to 145 cm. The sexes are similar, but the females are larger. Yong birds are slightly darker above, with paler streaking on head and underbody. They are often seen near water or around farms, soaring in a lazy circling flight pattern.
Similar species: Several other raptors may be confused with the Whistling Kite, including the Little Eagle, Hieraaetus morphnoides, other kites and harriers. These can only be separated by factors such as flight silhouette and style and the overall body shape.
Distribution: The Whistling Kite is widespread over mainland Australia but uncommon in Tasmania, and is also found in New Guinea, the Solomons and New Caledonia.
Habitat: The Whistling Kite is found in woodlands, open country and particularly wetlands. It is also common around farmland, vineyards and anywhere where carrion (dead animals) can be found (e.g. abattoirs, rubbish dumps and roadsides). Prefers tall trees for nesting.
Feeding: Whistling Kites soar above the ground, trees and water to search for prey such as carrion (dead animals) and small live animals such as mammals, birds, fish and insects.
Breeding: The Whistling Kite appears to be monogamous, with some breeding pairs remaining in a territory throughout the year and pairs actively defend the area around a nest. The bulky nest platform is built of sticks in a tall tree and may be reused, growing larger over time. Both sexes build the nest and incubate the eggs (the female does most of the incubation however) and may breed two or three times a year. The young stay with the parents after fledging for about six to eight weeks.
Calls: Loud descending whistle: 'teee-ti-ti'.
Minimum Size: 50cm
Maximum Size: 60cm
Average size: 55cm
Average weight: 770g
Breeding season: July to January in south; March to October in north.
Clutch Size: One to three, usually two.
Incubation: 38 days
Nestling Period: 46 days
