I finished these two Commandos a few weeks back but hadn't got round to posting them, so here they are.
Again using Tony Barton's headsculpts, along with DML uniforms and equipment, webbing etc painted. The jerkin was also given a wash with acrylics. The helmet is a hybrid custom job.

The Royal Marines were aboard New York conducting joint visit, board, search and seizure training with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Special Operations Capable (SOC).
New York is conducting operations in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF) area of operations as part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)-24th MEU (SOC).
The WSP ARG-24th MEU (SOC) is on a scheduled deployment to the NAVEUR-NAVAF area of operations, supporting U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to continue promoting regional stability and deterring aggression.

I received this plaque whilst serving with the Regiment in the early 1990s.
Dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. It was opened in 1952.

The Commando Memorial is a Category A listed monument in Scotland, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. Situated around a mile from Spean Bridge village, it overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother, it has become one of Scotland's best-known monuments, both as a war memorial and as a tourist attraction offering views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr.

Sailors from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash., sample fruits and vegetables from the commissary’s produce department during a store tour in May. The tour was as part of Commissary Commando, an event that judged the ability of military single service member groups to expose their members to the commissary benefit. Whidbey Island placed third in the competition.
