I finished these two Commandos a few weeks back but hadn't got round to posting them, so here they are.
Again using Tony Barton's headsculpts, along with DML uniforms and equipment, webbing etc painted. The jerkin was also given a wash with acrylics. The helmet is a hybrid custom job.
Senegalese commandos line the roadway here as a foot patrol of commandos and U.S. Marines takes a moment to stop and provide security. The patrol was part of the final exercise of the Toubakouta, Senegal, chapter of Africa Partnership Station 2011, which revolved around a military-to-military exchange in regard to culture, tactics, and the warrior mindset.

The Royal Marines were aboard New York conducting joint visit, board, search and seizure training with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Special Operations Capable (SOC).
New York is conducting operations in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF) area of operations as part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)-24th MEU (SOC).
The WSP ARG-24th MEU (SOC) is on a scheduled deployment to the NAVEUR-NAVAF area of operations, supporting U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to continue promoting regional stability and deterring aggression.

I received this plaque whilst serving with the Regiment in the early 1990s.
Dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. It was opened in 1952.
Royal Marines of 45 Commando and Swedish Coastal Rangers during a joint Swedish/UK exercise involving raiding a small Swedish island.
Royal Marines of X-Ray Company, 45 Commando and 4 Assault Squadron Royal Marines conducted Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) in Sweden.
Working alongside the Swedish Coastal Rangers (Kustjägarna) from their Berga Naval Base home, X- Ray Company showcased their strengths on the archipelagic Swedish terrain conducting interoperability training, Live Fire Tactical Training and littoral raiding alongside their Swedish partners. This is the first time the Swedish have taken part in BALTOPS as a member of NATO.

The Commando Memorial is a Category A listed monument in Scotland, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. Situated around a mile from Spean Bridge village, it overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother, it has become one of Scotland's best-known monuments, both as a war memorial and as a tourist attraction offering views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr.

The Surveillance Reconnaissance Squadron (SRS) conduct ice climbing training. Ice climbing is a very specific skill that few forces are capable of, it gives the SRS a tactical advantage in this testing environment.
Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron deploys ahead of the main Commando Force for specialist reconnaissance tasks.
Made up of Royal Marines Mountain Leaders in the main, but also including Royal Marines Landing Craft operators and Army Commandos, they operate in small teams, providing the initial battle picture for the Commando Force Headquarters.

UK Commando Force have been trading skills with partner forces on the ranges and a state-of-the-art close quarter battle training facility.

The tour was as part of Commissary Commando, an event that judged the ability of military single service member groups to expose their members to the commissary benefit.
