Last stop of Tour A in El Nido. Tourists are given the rest of the afternoon to laze around 7 Commandos Beach, apparently named after seven stranded fisherman who made this stretch of coastline their home for a while.

I finished these two Commandos a few weeks back but hadn't got round to posting them, so here they are.
Again using Tony Barton's headsculpts, along with DML uniforms and equipment, webbing etc painted. The jerkin was also given a wash with acrylics. The helmet is a hybrid custom job.
Senegalese commandos line the roadway here as a foot patrol of commandos and U.S. Marines takes a moment to stop and provide security. The patrol was part of the final exercise of the Toubakouta, Senegal, chapter of Africa Partnership Station 2011, which revolved around a military-to-military exchange in regard to culture, tactics, and the warrior mindset.

The Royal Marines were aboard New York conducting joint visit, board, search and seizure training with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Special Operations Capable (SOC).
New York is conducting operations in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF) area of operations as part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)-24th MEU (SOC).
The WSP ARG-24th MEU (SOC) is on a scheduled deployment to the NAVEUR-NAVAF area of operations, supporting U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to continue promoting regional stability and deterring aggression.
