Victory was more about who could stay awake the longest, given that I'd flgrantly failed to build the one decisive weapon available, for no good reason, until the very end. Oh well, a win is a win!

Army Materiel Command held a “Touchdown Ceremony” June 15, 2011 at their new Headquarters on Martin Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL. The 400,000 square foot facility will house some 1,750 AMC and US Army Security Assistance Command employees.

An Assumption of Responsibility Ceremony for Command Sgt. Maj. Steven L. Payton, the new U.S. Army Japan command sergeant major, was held at Yano Soccer Field Nov. 5.

 

About the United States Army Garrison Japan:

 

The United States Army Garrison Japan and its 16 supported installation sites are located in the island of Honshu and Okinawa in Japan. The USAG Japan mission is to support the Headquarters, U.S. Army Japan / I Corps (fwd) to ensure mission readiness and the quality of life of the Army community in a sustainable, transforming joint and combined environment.

 

The USAG-J area of responsibility spans 1,500 miles from north to south of Japan. Camp Zama, home for both HQ USARJ and USAG-J is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Tokyo in the cities of Zama and Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The Camp Zama base cluster includes Sagamihara Housing Area and Sagami General Depot.

McAlester Army Ammunition Plant held a change of command ceremony on June 21, 2017. COL Sean M. Herron relinquished command to COL Joseph D. Blanding, who arrived in southeastern Oklahoma from the Joint Munitions Command, where he was the Chief of Staff. U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers with the 59th Aviation Troop Command (ATC), South Carolina National Guard, conduct a change of responsibility ceremony at the South Carolina National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility (Location 1), Joint National Guard Base McEntire, Eastover, South Carolina, Mar. 5, 2023. The event included the traditional passing of the colors and the passing of the noncommissioned officer (NCO) sword. The passing of the colors represents the continuity of leadership and trust within a unit, whereas the passing of the NCO sword is a reminder of the senior NCO's responsibilities in ensuring order and discipline among the troops of that unit. The sword also reminds the senior NCO of their overarching responsibility for the care and welfare of the troops. 59th ATC’s leaders and staff attended the ceremony and joined guests, families, and friends, in welcoming Command Sgt. Maj. Kimbrell as the new Senior Enlisted Advisor for the U.S. Army aviation community of the South Carolina Army National Guard. The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command honors its military spouses during a ceremony at the command's Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, headquarters May 9. The event was a combined ceremony that was video-teleconferenced at multiple locations throughout the command.

The RAF Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London, commemorates the aircrews of RAF Bomber Command who embarked on missions during the Second World War. The memorial, located near Hyde Park Corner, was built to mark the sacrifice of 55,573 aircrew.

 

There was controversy over the tactics employed by RAF Bomber Command which meant that an official memorial to the aircrews had been delayed for many years

 

The Queen officially opened the memorial on 28 June 2012.

Dill, who led USAG Wiesbaden through massive transformation efforts for the past 31 months, moves on to serve as the G-3, chief of operations, for V Corps. Carstens comes to Wiesbaden after last serving as the executive officer to the deputy commander for U.S. Army Europe in Heidelberg.

Because of the army engineers' history in using small boats in inland waters, this command was given the responsibility for training U.S. Army amphibious units in WWII. This small patch was one of the few that were worn on the pocket, not the sleeve.

Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch., Commander, Installation Management Command, will host a flag uncasing ceremony for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Oct. 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. in San Antonio, Texas.

 

Dr. Joseph W. Westphal, Under Secretary of the United States Army, will be the guest speaker.

The ceremony represents the presence of the installation management community and the assumption of the command's authority in San Antonio. The installation management community includes the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Headquarters and two major subordinate commands: U.S. Army Environmental Command and the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command.

 

IMCOM temporarily occupies leased space in northeastern San Antonio until the new IMCOM Headquarters Building on Fort Sam Houston is completed in October 2011.

 

Uncasing the flag exemplifies how IMCOM, headquartered in "Military City USA," is transforming to make Army installations the Army's Home.

 

U.S. Army Installation Management Command Organizational Day Festivities

 

Soldiers, Civilian employees and their Families took a break from their normal, busy work schedules to participate in team building activities and celebrate the recent transition of the IMCOM headquarters to San Antonio, Texas.

Reserve Soldiers from the greater Chicago area drive M1165A1 High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) on an off-road driving course to gain practice on the HMMWV in various rough terrain conditions at the Joliet Training Area, Ill., May 14. The course was taught by driving instructors from the 416th Theater Engineer Command, headquartered in Darien, Ill. Approximately 30 Soldiers participated in the driver training, which spans across a five-day training schedule.

KUWAIT NAVAL BASE, Kuwait--Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) gathered together aboard the Army Logistical Support Vessel 05, Major General Charles P Gross, to congratulate newly promoted Chief Warrant Officer 4 Lawrence Claflin during a promotion ceremony held here Nov. 22. Members of Darwin’s 1st Brigade will hold a Transition of Command Parade to farewell Brigadier Mick Ryan ahead of his departure from the Northern Territory; and welcome new Commander, Brigadier Ben James in to the 1st Brigade.

 

Following the parade, members of the 1st Brigade will line the streets around the parade ground to show their respects to Brigadier Ryan.

 

Chief of the Australian Army, Lieutenant General Angus Campbell DSC, AM will travel from Canberra to attend the parade as an official guest. Brigadier Ryan’s family will also attend the parade and be part of the official farewell from 1st Brigade members.

 

After 15 months as Commander of the 1st Brigade, Brigadier Ryan has been selected to take up the role of Director General Training in Sydney; a role which will see him oversee the Australian Army’s training, in particular Army’s major exercise, Exercise Hamel.
