McAlester Army Ammunition Plant held a change of command ceremony on June 21, 2017. COL Sean M. Herron relinquished command to COL Joseph D. Blanding, who arrived in southeastern Oklahoma from the Joint Munitions Command, where he was the Chief of Staff. He is the 35th commander of the ammunition production facility that was commissioned as Naval Ammunition Depot, McAlester, on May 20, 1943, and the 18th commander since it was turned over to the U.S. Army. Joint Sustainment Command—Afghanistan held a joint non-commissioned officer induction ceremony with the U.S. Air Force and Slovakian Army, January 14, Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The ceremony was to formally welcome sergeants in to Non-Commissioned Officer Corps. The ceremony recognizes the change in priorities and responsibilities Soldiers take on when becoming a sergeant.

At a change-of-command ceremony inside the Carey Physical Fitness Center on Camp Casey in Dongducheon July 27, Lt. Col. Jon Gardner assumes command of U.S. Army Garrison Casey, replacing Lt. Col. Edward D. Eldridge, who commanded the garrison for the past two years and moves to a new assignment. Gardner’s previous assignment was with Special Operations Command-Europe, where he served as the Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Division chief. In a separate award ceremony shortly before the change-of-command, Eldridge received the Combined Forces Command Deputy Commander’s Medal, presented by Lt. Col. GARRISON CHANGE OF COMMAND/RESPONSIBILITY: The Director, Installation Management Command, Atlantic Region Mr. Davis D. Tindoll, Jr. hosted the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Change of Command and Change of Responsibility Ceremony, July 6 on Fort Stewart on Cottrell Field. During the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Change of Command Ceremony, the IMCOM Atlantic Region and the Stewart-Hunter Community said goodbye to outgoing command team of Col. Kevin Milton, and CSM James Ervin; and welcomed the incoming command team of Col. Kevin F. Gregory and CSM Louis C. Felicioni.
Command Sgt. Major Raymond F. Chandler III, the Sergeant Major of the Army, came to visit soldiers stationed at Camp Buehring. Several Soldiers from the 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade, N.Y.
