As a kid in the late 1950s and early 1960s, I thought the letters ADC stood for Arctic Demolition Crew. Only later did I learn that the letters really stand for Alaska Defense Command. This command was responsible for trainng and the defense of Alaska during WWII.

Army Materiel Command held a “Touchdown Ceremony” June 15, 2011 at their new Headquarters on Martin Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL. The 400,000 square foot facility will house some 1,750 AMC and US Army Security Assistance Command employees.

At a change-of-command ceremony inside the Carey Physical Fitness Center on Camp Casey in Dongducheon July 27, Lt. Col. Jon Gardner assumes command of U.S. Army Garrison Casey, replacing Lt. Col. Edward D. Eldridge, who commanded the garrison for the past two years and moves to a new assignment. Gardner’s previous assignment was with Special Operations Command-Europe, where he served as the Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Division chief. In a separate award ceremony shortly before the change-of-command, Eldridge received the Combined Forces Command Deputy Commander’s Medal, presented by Lt. Col. Honolulu HI - On February 12, 2020 U.S. Coast Guard Sector Honolulu put on a Command and Control demonstration for government officials from Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The demonstration incorporated the use of a Coast Guard Sector Honolulu patrol boat (cutter Kittiwake), a Station Honolulu response boat, and both a Coast Guard Auxiliary utility boat and aircraft. The purpose of the exercise was to show how how a target of interest could be intercepted in the offshore waters near Oahu, Hawaii. All photos by Kevin Cooper
