My big Brazilian lunch at a "comida a kilo" (food by the kilo) restaurant, a very popular way to eat in Brasil. You choose your food from a buffet full of different foods, and then the plate is weighed and you pay according to the weight.
We're returning to the country house today. I want make some trips in the "Recôncavo", the region surrounding the Bay of All Saints, and take some photos of the historic colonial towns in the area.
Appetizing lunch served in the Zapotec village of Santo Tomas Jalieza, Oaxaca. A platter of grilled tasajo (salted beef), chorizo, chile de agua (water chile), nopalitos (fresh cactus paddles) and cebollas (scallions) with a garnish of lettuce and radishes and a bowl of black bean pure with chochoyotes (maize dumplings). A real treat.
