Lets have something a bit more colourful and cheerful on this cold, dank, misty, wet and miserable morning in January, here in South London UK.

Girona was a surprise for me - the river was not what I expected nor was the back view of the buildings which in my view are a mess. I did however, like the colours. It was also a grey, but glary Sunday afternoon which did not do justice to the fine stone buildings in the City which was devoid of people - they were all at siesta.

Sometimes a combination of factors come together to make what may have been an exciting trip into a rather dull one. I'm afraid I left Girona as a rather disappointed visitor. However, there are always photo opportunities around the corner whatever the weather or situation and I did manage to get a few reasonable images. My wife and daughter loved the ice cream and I was able to get a British pint of beer!

I shall try to visit this City again when the conditions are more favourable for the surroundings.

I hoped to capture a beautiful sunset last evening, as I saw the sky beautifully spread out with clouds. But I reached the location a little too late to capture the sunset. This is what I could get. I hope you would like it.

Again I missed the best of yesterday's colours, ( I enjoyed watching it while driving:))

as I was busy indoors when the players were all dancing in beautiful colours outdoors: the Sun, the Sky and the Clouds .....

Shot at the Sivagami Pettachchi Auditorium during one of Deepa Mahadevans dance concert performances. Colored light is always challenging yet rewarding. When you nail the right blend of reds, yellows, blue and greens, the joy of that accomplishment is quite sensational. In this instance though, there were merely green from the left and yellow from the right and a bit of orange from above which is almost invisible.

I’m always curious of how color of the light is representative of human emotion, many a times. It sort of changes how you look at things or rather how you feel about things.

MSH November 2020: I See Colours

I drink coffee daily. Still I knew so little about it.

In the picture, you can see all three ripeness grades of coffee cherries. The red cherries are ripe. Green means they have been picked too early. The black once hung at the tree for too long. Green and black cherries will still be processed to lower quality coffee like instant coffee.

A machine will sort the red cherries according to their density which correlates with the strength of their aroma. Sadly, the bulk of the value chain lies outside of Kenya. The raw product will be mainly exported to Europe and other destinations, where the big coffee players roast and sell the coffee.

Just a few hours left of the month and time to present picture number 12(!!!) of the challenge! The theme this month was “färg” (colour) and I knew quite early that I (once again) wanted to work with UV-light and UV-colours. It was a long and tough process of painting on all the colours and then take a decent picture. Next time I work with UV I will hopefully not be both the modell and the photographer. ^^

(During my editing process I made a black and white edit of the photo and loved it, sadly it was the opposite of the theme this time. But I will remember it until the next time have a UV photoshoot.)

As usual you can find all my pictures for the challenge in my albums and Kajsa's picture on her page: www.flickr.com/photos/kajsaeriksson
