exhibited at frames of mind 2009

I noticed this bit of wall seemed to be freshly painted, judging by the clean vibrant coat of pain on it. It was pretty much impossible to wait for a human subject to walk in, but I guess pigeons are not a bad subject too. It was challenge finding the correct composition, matched with the shutter speed, but I think I got it.

I love how the red contrasts with the white, which incidentally also happens to be the colours of our Singapore flag.

May our little red dot enjoy the freedom forever.

Peggys Cove is a small community located on the eastern shore of St. Margarets Bay in Nova Scotia, which is famous for the Lighthouse (established 1868).

From its founding, the community's economy revolved around the fishery. However, tourism began to overtake fishing in economic importance following the Second World War. Today, Peggys Cove is primarily a tourist attraction, although its inhabitants still fish for lobster, and the community maintains undeveloped appearance.

When processing this shot, I realised that the colours - the blue lip, white foam, brown sand and aqua water - are all arranged in lines leading back to the distant end of the barrel. Not only that, each line has a different texture. No matter how many photos I take, there's always something new to see!

My blog has a few more shots from the day, and this one looks great large on black!

a few weeks ago I was enjoying Dubai with my friends. Gorgeous city full of bright different colours.

Claremont Landscape Garden, a National Trust oasis of greenery, is to be found on the Portsmouth Road near Esher in Surrey. Previously a pleasure garden retreat of royalty, Claremont isn’t that big – yet it’s always a delight to visit. And today… well just look at the sumptuous autumn colours!

Many of the great names in landscape design have left their mark on the estate, not least Sir John Vanbrugh and Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Queen Victoria loved it here – so much so that in 1866 she acquired the estate to save it from development.

Lovely colours of Autumn here!!

For the Smile on Saturday group challenge - "multi-colora"

The festive decorations are still here, so many warm and bright colours! So it seemed right to collect together some of the bright and warming colours that have been compensating for the grey and dark winter days and nights ;o)

Added textures: Pro Add-Ons Abstract lights

HSoS and HCS too!

52 Weeks Project: #2.
