I love to experiment with different colours and see how they complement each other. As we all know, yellow and orange works great, as we always see during sunrise and sunsets. Green and brown works when it comes to trees, and so on and so forth. Here's to a colourfull 2011 !!

A disappointingly flat dull day today but a 30 minute spell of colour saved the day :-)

Another tree shot just loved the low sun that was shining on the grasses

Contrasting colours of the female and male Eider ducks, South Uist. Eiders were one of my target species I wanted to photograph on my recent trip this year. Having travelled to the Isle a number of times they’ve always proved elusive. I was fortunate on this occasion albeit many hours were spent on the shoreline hunkered down to capture this series on Askernish beach situated along the southern coastline of the island chain.

"Uist" is a group of six islands forming part of the Outer Hebridean Archipelago. Inland is punctuated by an infinite number of fresh water lochs framed by a palette of brilliant white sand and turquoise waters. Unlike some Hebridean islands the coastline is typically deserted and your left to wonder at the diversity of wildlife in perfect solitude.

processed this one a while ago and I can't remember what I did to it but I quite like the effect.

Arctic cold weather forces me inside in an effort to stay warm. Flowers help!

Looking over the Cheshire plain from Mow Cop. Another archive shot from my Mow Cop collection taken with my old Nikon D80, quite pleased with the colours in this finished shot & I did promise no folly shot for a while!

Sycamore leaf. Backlit with crossed polarized lighting. Main light source: LED screen. Camera accessories: Circular polarising filter; miniature tripod. I think it is remarkable for the range of colours expressed in a single leaf.

Taken during a wonderful evening at our friends' Peter and Barbara's home after a gorgeous meal - good conversation and friendship - nothing can compare.
