Decided to take the camera to work for some reason last Friday. Was more than a bit pleased when the fog rolled in just before I left to go home.

A very Happy Christmas and New Year to all my friends, followers and viewers :)

from my one a day set. rain, rain, rained all day, so had to come up with a idea for a shot i could do in the house, came across these glow sticks that my wife bought at a pound shop.

ingrediants: 20 glow sticks, one fancy pint glass, and plenty of dark

Lights in the village during the 2010 Olympics.

This reminded me of sleeping transformers!

Crazy Circus at Ulverston Dickensian Festival.

The first in the Plasma Globes sequence, derived from 'Fibonacci 4/4'. This is a 'proof of principle', having a neon shell effect.

 

All scenes use radiosity lighting, which gives the photorealistic glows, and allows efficient rendering of hundreds of light sources.

At night, the falls at Niagara are lit up in an array of beautiful colours!

The University of Liverpool's Active Learning Laboratory. This building started life as a hideous concrete box. It has recently received this fabulous make-over. The effect of the ever-changing colours is quite mesmeric...

 

This one subject I'm sure I'll be revisiting as the year progresses...

As 1/3, but with more reds to give a more pleasing palette of colours. Colours are chosen randomly.

Pictures taken at the Magical Lantern Festival in Chiswick House and Grounds

I thought I would try a different effect with the CN Tower.

 

I zoomed in with a shutter speed of 2 seconds and the lights from the buildings and tower provided a trail-light effect.

 

They look like power lights coming towards me from a distance!
