As 1/3, but with more reds to give a more pleasing palette of colours. Colours are chosen randomly.
All scenes use radiosity lighting, which gives the photorealistic glows, and allows efficient rendering of hundreds of light sources.
Another look at the gorgeously illuminated temple entrance inside the massive Swaraj Roundabout rotunda. I could have sat there all night! I loved the seven elephants depicted on either side of the entrance, in keeping with the seven elephant night Pooram parade I am in the process of witnessing. Shame about the noise is this photo. I only had my Samsung Galaxy out with me. Lit with LED Lenser torch.

Since the parade was moving painfully slowly, and since it was getting a bit too crowded there, I repaired to the edge of the parade when I spotted this gorgeously illuminated Hindu temple. This is probably one of the entrances to the centrepoint of all this Pooram thing- the Vadukkanathan temple. Of course going in was not an option for apart from the fact that I am not exactly a believer, my large dSLR might not have gone down with the temple authorities as almost all Hindu temples in India frown upon photography. It would be total chaos inside, and at any rate, the Pooram parade/ procession was already well under way, so no detracting from that! (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)

Lacock Abbey was seen in a new light for two weeks in January with illuminations and special effects lighting in the historic cloisters set up by the National Trust.
The lights effects gave a sense of some of the activities which once took place in the Abbey cloisters, putting fires back into fireplaces and projecting colours on the walls which would once have been painted colourfully.
The lighting effects, designed were seen during the day.
The series of four photos were taken in sequence showing the lighting effects in the courtyard garden.

A very Happy Christmas and New Year to all my friends, followers and viewers :)
December 2014: the many colours of Hampton Court, lit up at night in the festive season leading up to Christmas. Also in the grounds was a skating rink.
I gather from searching here on Flickr that the practice of lighting this place up on the approach to Christmas has been going on for a number of years, but this was the first time I've ever seen it for myself and I'd have to say it was pretty impressive.
In fact, it was specially impressive on the night I was passing by because there was a clear sky and a full moon
