At night, the falls at Niagara Falls are lit up with an array of stunning colours.

This one doesn't bear close scrutiny I'm afraid, scanned from a matt print - I can't find the neg.
Taken one night in July 1984 from the garden of a rented holiday cottage in Cromer, looking at the illuminations along the seafront. These were strings of coloured lights attached to old concrete lamp posts which no longer had their tops. I had hoped to catch the lights over the crazy golf course to the left of the coloured lights, which consisted of a network of household bulbs strung all over the course from posts, but I was too late and missed them and it was our last night.
Also notable is the yellow sodium main road lighting along the seafront road, now falling from favour all over Britain. This scene is now completely changed in all probability.

Took at Middleton Photography Club, with a theme of Accessories. Brought various items from home and used different lighting and filters and added some effects in Photoshop and On1 Raw. Took using 24-70mm, 180mm macro and 50mm prime.

Today was largely spent reading out lists and working out point scores and such for the preparation for GCSE results day tomorrow.
We've got to hope we don't get traffic issues from Cilla Black's funeral which is very close by, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Tonight though saw a very fleeting visit to Central Library so Laura could pick up a book she'd reserved.
I've been in many times but my eye is always drawn to the climbing balconies so I've missed these coloured lighting columns on the bookshelves. I don't know if they're thematic or purely decorative, but they're quite pretty.

Someone painted the lights in a tunnel I frequently pass through. For some weeks I wanted to bring my camera, and this day I finally did.
Lucky me! The next time I passed, the colors had been cleaned off :-)

A closer look at the coloured lights on plastered across one of the 'Pooram Pandal' decorative shrines located along the periphery of the massive 'Swaraj Roundabout' rotunda in the Southern Indian city of Trichur in Kerala. The many decorated shrines made the setting a riot of colour. I was beginning to get a feel of what would probably follow. But where are the elephants? The attraction numero uno, apart from the sheer atmosphere are the caparisoned elephants! We will meet them soon enough- see subsequent pictures. (Trichur/ Thrissur, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)
