Last night Welland and myself met up in a pub as part of the Analogue Brighton group meet-up. We walked up to a small cemetery and armed with torches, flashes and a flashing key ring we tried some light painting. This is one of the results.

It's been a while since I last did a coloursplash photo, so here's one of Bristol Ferry's "Independence" at St Augustine's Reach.

A cheeky bicyclist parks his bike next to a trio of Harley Davidsons. The sign does say "Welcome Bikers" after all! This was shot on my 2004 motorcycle trip to Yellowstone with my Sony point and shoot (5 megapixel) camera. I had just got back into photography and wanted to test the waters with an inexpensive point and shoot.

Taken with the Lomo LC-A+ camera that I first used in week 218 of my 52 film cameras in 52 weeks project:

A monarch butterfly feeds on a cone flower in the early light in the Government Gardens this morning. The early morning sunlight shines through its bright orange wings, reminding me of stained glass. It was sunny , cloudless and the air was so still - just perfect for butterfly photos

Mama out for a walk with the kids. Shot with a Fuji X100T with a 23mm lens meant I had to get close ... too close. Mama started to hiss and I took that as a hint and backed off.

We have had my large Sagurao type cactus for at least 10 years in my cactus and succulent collection. This is the first time it has flowered. The flowers are large about 15 cm across, The flowers hang down and the soft light at sunset brings out the pastel yellow and white in the flowers. These flowers only last 48 hours. then the cactus may not flower for another 10 years
