Colombo

Sri Lanka

Colombo to Galle express train. I had been advised to take the train on that leg, due to the fantastic scenery etc. While I was regretting not doing so, it was just as well we went by car, as the car runs parallel to the railway all the way, plus we were able to stop at Balapitiya for the boat ride into the mangroves. This was taking in Colombo. It's the only place in the world I've seen a railway track by the sea.
