I collected Gareth, my 1-2-1 client en-route to Penmon Point pre-dawn this morning to capture sunrise and on arriving, the weather did not look all to promising but as per usual, Anglesey delivered once again for the sunrise was amazing.
Huge shafts of crepuscular rays beamed down over Conway Bay whilst the white coastguard cottages stood guard watching over proceedings.
Overall it was a fantastic way to see in the day. I have a few more images from today to edit and share with you over the coming days.

All the photos I present were taken in the town of Taormina (Sicily);
I made photos related to "street photography";
I photographed people who, for the most part, I had never met before, I thank them for their sympathy and availability;
I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate nella cittadina di Taormina (Sicilia);
ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo mai incontrato prima, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.

Trulli are vernacular buildings characterized by quadrilateral shape, covered by conic roofs, and constructed using roughly worked limestone boulders collected from the neighboring fields. Later, as large water-collecting basins were created in the area, they were built directly on the underlying natural rock, using drywall technique exclusively. They constitute a very peculiar architectural expression; on the one side, they were created upon the tradition of ancient technologies and typologies, dating back to the prehistoric age and surviving through time in this southern Italian region without any interruption; on the other side, the current situation led to a wide geographical distribution in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The combination of two or more trulli of different size forms a dwelling. A higher number of trulli, freely aggregated with each other, forms the “trullaia” i.e. a group of buildings, of small courtyards or farmyards including animal housings, of small fenced gardens and vegetable gardens accessible only from the respective households. The smallest trulli, which usually host niches for beds and fireplaces, are connected to the main trullo by means of low arches. Rural trulli show up throughout the Itria Valley.

A Study in Red - I collected the large leaf in Cambridge a while back and the red leaf is from our blueberry. It has some nice rich red leaves at the moment. I actually read the challenge wrong so I will go and try again!

In the rain I hurried from the H'Art Museum to the Oudeschans, but just had to stop at the pretty little Hoftuin. I was drawn there by the very bright pink of these great Callas. They were originally seen and collected for the Western World by Anton Rehmann (1840-1917) who traveled in South Africa 1875-1877 and 1879-1880. They're from Natal, South Africa. The scientific description (1883) is by Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler (1844-1930),

ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo incontrato prima, eseguendo dei loro ritratti, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
il vulcano Etna, nei giorni scorsi ha mostrato una intensa attività eruttiva, anche con intensi fenomeni chiamati "fontane di lava", emissioni a getto continuo perdurate intensamente per molti minuti, di altissime "fontane" di magma incandescente, molto spettacolari e non comuni, le fotografie dell'Etna sono state realizzate da Taormina;
ho provato a cogliere storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...

Although I have collected antiques my whole adulthood, this little faux, distressed painted cabinet fit right over my toilet in my bathroom in my new almost 100 year old house back in 2013 so I bought it. Odd, huh? My first "antique" house and I put a faux furniture piece in it? Oh well, it's worked out well for me.

Branklyn Garden is a hillside public garden in the Kinnoull area of the Scottish city of Perth. The garden is set in 2 acres (0.81 ha) in the western foothills of Kinnoull Hill.
A National Trust for Scotland site, the garden was established in 1922 by John and Dorothy Renton, who built a house on the property. The couple's desire was to have a garden that featured rare and unusual plants, along with flowers from all over the world. Several people, including George Forrest and Frank Ludlow, collected seeds for the garden, which now has over 3,500 species of plants. Today, the garden is also home to several national collections of plants, including Meconopsis and Cassiope.

Allen's Hummingbird was collected by and named after Charles Allen (1841-1930), a collector and taxidermist who lived in California. He collected and sent a specimen to an ornithologist back east, who named the bird after him.
Later it was determined the someone else had described the bird many years earlier, but the name Allen's Hummingbird remained attached to the bird.
Hans Schabus collected for some years all things with Hans (Hans = John Johnny - and was a very common name - and it is also the name of my father): Hans in Luck, Johnny Head-in-the-Air, plastic budgie (Hansi is a common name for lovebirds), Junghans clock, Hans beer bottle, Hansel und Gretel,....
As one of the items he found was the sign of a café house he build this container with a working cafè inside, with a waiter.....
Hans Schabus sammelte über mehrere Jahre alles mit hans: Hansa Kisten, Hansa Kekse, Hans Bierflasche, Hans im Glück, Hans Dampf, Hansi Hinterseer, Hans Guck in die Luft, Lufthansa, Hans Albers, Hänsel und Gretel, Plastik Wellensittich (häufiger Wellensittich Name: Hansi) Junghans Uhr, Hans Zug, Hansaplast.... Da einer der Gegenstände, seiner Sammlung das Kaffeehausschild ist, ist im Kontainer ein funktionsfähiges Kaffeehaus mit Kellner...... Und spiegelt sich der Hansi im Café Hansi von Hans Schabus

Marble Foyer
The Marble Foyer features 48 marble columns that evoke the muted pinks and greens of the Australian landscape as well as the colours of the two Parliamentary Chambers, clad in green Cipollino marble from Italy and creamy pink Atlantide Rosa marble from Portugal. The two marble staircases feature stone finials created by Sydney sculptor Anne Ferguson, which were inspired by the seed forms of Australian trees. The floor has a series of circles, semi-circles and triangles of Paradise White marble and black Granitello Nero limestone from Belgium. The limestone is full of fossils of sea life that existed some 345 million years ago. You can see the remains of ancient corals, sponges and crinoids, or 'sea lilies'.
The walls feature twenty marquetry panels depicting Australian native flora, designed by Adelaide artist Tony Bishop and produced by Michael Retter, the six panels above the entrance feature plants traditionally used by Aboriginal people, and those on the southern side feature plants collected by Sir Joseph Banks in 1770.

Auricularia is a genus of fungi with fruit bodies that are typically gelatinous and ear-shaped. Auricularia cornea is a popular ingredient in many Chinese dishes and is also used in traditional Chinese medicine. From the 1870s to the 1950s, the fungus was collected and exported from New Zealand to China. Auricularia cornea grows on dead fallen or standing wood of broadleaf trees. The species is widely distributed in southern Asia, Africa, Australasia, the Pacific, and South America.
