This beautiful rhododendron flower wasn’t formed to a fascinating sculpture by the rain. These are dewdrops collected on the petals during the night. Together with this soft and diffuse morning light its producing a impressive look, in my opinion.
Diese wunderschöne Rhododendron Blüte wurde nicht etwa vom Regen zu einer faszinierenden Skulpur umgewandelt. Dies sind Taudropfen, der sich über Nacht auf den Blättern gesammelt haben. Zusammen mit dem weichen und diffusen Morgenlicht ergibt das eine beeindruckenden Anblick, finde ich.

The female, as seen here, lacks the bright colours of the male. The bird is a common resident breeder in southern India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and is found in a variety of habitats with trees, including gardens where they forage for nectar. In the monsoons it is a joy to watch them dew-bathing (bathing in rain collected on large leaves).
I think I’ve solved our winter energy crisis!
When the lights get turned off between 4 and 7 on those dark winter nights you just need to turn on a few fairy lights!
Problem solved!
I would suggest that there is a double benefit in that when they stop working, you could just sauté then in a little butter and that’s supper sorted too, however these bonnets are not toxic but have no nutritional value, a bit like a cream cracker in that respect.
So far I’ve collected about 150 and arranged them strategically around the house and guess what happened when I turned all the lights off…….…..yes, **** all!

We had collected the equipment and were heading to the cars, but a change in color and clouds did not encourage us to take out the cameras again.
Presque aussi grande qu'un moineau domestique, c'est la plus grande des mésanges d'Europe. On la reconnaît essentiellement à sa tête noire contrastant avec des joues blanches et à son ventre jaune orné d'une raie médiane noire. Chez les mâles, cette raie se prolonge jusqu'à la queue. Chez la femelle, cette raie est plus terne et plus fine et s'arrête sur l'abdomen. Sachant cela, vous constaterez qu'il y a plus de mâles sur les mangeoires. Le dessus est vert olive, tirant vers le bleu sur les ailes et la queue et une petite barre blanche sur les ailes. Les petits donnent l'impression d'être plus ramassés, avec des joues jaunes.

Almost as large as a house sparrow, it is the largest of the European tits. It is mainly recognized by its black head contrasting with white cheeks and its yellow belly decorated with a black median stripe. In males, this line extends to the tail. In the female, this line is duller and finer and stops on the abdomen. Knowing this, you will find that there are more males on the feeders. The upper side is olive green, turning blue on the wings and tail and a small white bar on the wings. The little ones give the impression of being more collected, with yellow cheeks.

This is part of an M&S tableware set called Autumn Leaves.
I started collecting it when I got married over 50 years ago and have added to it over the years, often as because it was going out of fashion, but it's timeless to me.
It's stoneware and very long lasting.
Left ? that way, seems to show this Carpenter Bee, having collected a provision of pollen on its back. The blooming Polygala bush is attracting new Carpenter Bees every day. /
La gauche ? c'est par la, semble indiquer cette Abeille Charpentière, après avoir accumulé un bon peu de pollen sur son dos. Le Polygale en fleurs attire au moins une Abeille Charpentière par jour.
Collected Tigger yesterday and when we got home we discovered he had fleas so Nina bathed him. He has been exploring a bit today. He spits and arches his back at the other animals. It’s hilarious.
The moored houseboats and the marina rose with the high floodwaters at Green River Lake. The marina’s paths collected debris.

Because it reached its highest development as an ornamental plant in China, and as most early cultivars were collected there and shipped to Europe, the species was given its name rosa-sinensis or Rose of China (China Rose). Today there is almost unlimited variation in shades of colour.
Collected my new specs aka glasses from the optician today. They came with a case in blue, my least favourite colour so I asked if there was another option.
And the lady optician produced this beautiful pink case plus a cleaning cloth in 4 different colours of which can be seen just the pink and the green sections.
