Dit pak sneeuw is dan wel van december eind 2012, inmiddels is het half maart geweest en wilt iedereen maar wat graag dat de lente aanbreekt. Maar daar zullen we helaas nog even op moeten wachten!

This snow is from last December, but it's still winter in our country. Cold temperatures with sometimes snow and freezing wind. And the spring isn't in sight yet! That is what we are all waiting for. But we're just need a little bit more patience.

The enormous Wolf Moon was an intoxicating event to photograph. Out on the frozen Mississippi backwaters ice fishing all day long. My group was rewarded to an incredible Moonrise. The temperature hovered near 0°F. The moon provided a bathing cool glow over the ice shanties. Onalaska, Wisconsin

San Marco is one of the six sestieri of Venice, lying in the heart of the city. San Marco also includes the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Although the district includes Saint Mark's Square, that was never administered as part of the sestiere.

The small district includes many of Venice's most famous sights, including St Mark's Square, Saint Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, Harry's Bar, the Palazzo Dandolo, San Moisè, the La Fenice theatre, the Palazzo Grassi and the churches of San Beneto, San Fantin, Santa Maria del Giglio, San Maurizio, San Moisè, Santo Stefano, San Salvador, San Zulian and San Samuele.

The area is densely built and was the location of Venice's government. It is now heavily touristed and is home to many hotels, banks and expensive shops.

The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a carnivorous bear native largely within the Arctic Circle encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. It is the world's largest bear, together with the omnivorous Kodiak bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi), which is approximately the same size. A boar (adult male) weighs around 350–700 kg (770–1,500 lb), while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Although it is closely related to the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their time at sea. Their scientific name means "maritime bear", and derives from this fact. Polar bears hunt their preferred food of seals from the edge of sea ice, often living off fat reserves when no sea ice is present.
