Temple Island, Henley on Thames.

Temple Island is an eyot, about a mile and a half north and downstream of Henley-on-Thames. The downstream end of the island is the start of the Henley Royal Regatta course.

The building on the island is an ornamental temple, a folly constructed in 1771 and designed James Wyatt.

The photograph is a composite of several long exposure images to give an approximately 16-minute exposure.

San Marco is one of the six sestieri of Venice, lying in the heart of the city. San Marco also includes the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Although the district includes Saint Mark's Square, that was never administered as part of the sestiere.

The small district includes many of Venice's most famous sights, including St Mark's Square, Saint Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, Harry's Bar, the Palazzo Dandolo, San Moisè, the La Fenice theatre, the Palazzo Grassi and the churches of San Beneto, San Fantin, Santa Maria del Giglio, San Maurizio, San Moisè, Santo Stefano, San Salvador, San Zulian and San Samuele.

The area is densely built and was the location of Venice's government. It is now heavily touristed and is home to many hotels, banks and expensive shops.

Taken from Iceland during my trip in February 2012 while driving along route one from Jokulsarlon to Hofn. The view of Vatnajokull (Skaftafell National Park) is so stunning even in cloudy day.

Along the way there were many farms to explore, you can see Icelandic horses in many places without difficulty.

The Adriatic Sea is a body of water separating the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan peninsula, and the system of the Apennine Mountains from that of the Dinaric Alps and adjacent ranges. The Adriatic Sea is a part of the Mediterranean Sea.

The island is home to three settlements. The Lido itself, in the north, is home to the Film Festival, the Grand Hotel des Bains, the Venice Casino and the Grand Hotel Excelsior. Malamocco, in the centre, is the first and for a long time the only settlement. It was at one time home to the Doge of Venice. Alberoni at the southern end is home to the Fort San Nicolo and a golf course.

Ithaca, NY. The morning saw a brief interlude for blue skies and some sun before getting overcast with more snow.
