By the Tower of London. Got hasseled by some security guard who said (in broken English) "photos illegal, gimme your camera, I have to take to Police" got a lot of "where does it say that?" back. Took a picture anyway.
Day 109 of 366
Today is another shot for the 366 group’s theme for this week; opposites. Using ice and steam, hot and cold, clean and dirty. Three for one
No polarizer...just brilliant blue. There was just a bit of snow still falling...you can see it if you try.

Due to insulation we had blown in the attic last year, we had to install CFL's in the ceiling spotlights to reduce the temperature. I'm not much a fan of CFL's, as they are still not a very good bulb (slow warm up, far less than advertised life, expensive, and questionable carbon footprint reduction as a result of much higher manufacturing effort and said short lifespans). They are useful in some situations where they'll deliver good results, but they are not a universal solution, IMHO- still waiting for LED lights to come down in price for that.
These spotlights take about 2 minutes to come to full brightness- I noticed that when I first turn them on, the end of the spiral internal bulb is not yet glowing, so thought it would make an interesting picture.

When skiing many years ago our Austrian ski instructor commented that my friend had a 'dangerous nose' ... in other words close to frostbite. It was -25 and everything on our faces were frozen with a layer of ice. Happy days!

Finally it looks like winter around here. There are some trees that still have their yellow and orange leaves but not many. This tall tree actually towered over a two-story apartment building. I framed it to leave that out of the photo. It was impressively tall.
Me after being cold from the snow ... cow slippers, sweats, and a Dangermouse t-shirt. Have a laugh. ;)
Taken in Bangladesh. It was really cold. When I was taking picture they got so excited.
Imagine how much we whine if the heat goes out for one day
