21st November 2018. On a cold November morning at Sherringham which is part of the North Norfolk Railway. The steam is emphasised in the cold air as GNR N2 0-6-2T No.1744 shows her power as she moves out of the station on a TimeLine Photo Charter.
Around Frankfurt, there's heaps of cold war relicts. helipads, rocket batteries or, like this, an old tank training ground. I'm not sure if, in retrospect, that all should have made me feel safe or worried...
I really enjoy frozen cherries in away much more than fresh ones.
This is also for the alphabet challenge week 3 for the theme cold.
A day with family. A snack at the Korean version of an elementary school bake sale. Spending time in a snowy Wolmyeong Park. A giant lunch with galbi tang and a spicy seafood concoction. Visiting the only (or first?) Japanese style Buddhist Temple in Korea. I Sung Dong bakery.
The good life.
Ever since I was a kid I'd heard that when it gets really cold outside water will actually freeze before it hits the ground. Tonight in Saskatoon SK the temperature hit -40 Celsius (same as -40F at this point) and a quick web search said this is around the temperature needed for this to happen.
The secret is you actually have to use boiling water because when you throw it up it turns first to steam the almost instanty to a flour like substance.
I don't know how well it came across in the video but it sounded really weird, sort of a sizzling/buzzing sound.
Hopefully next time it gets this cold it will be during daylight hours so it will be easier to film.
No tricks here, its just damn cold!!!

I didn't take many pictures while home for my winter vacation. Most of the shots were of family and aren't really Flickr worthwhile. I like this shot though. It took some persuading to get my girlfriend to go outside into the cold!

Hot pepper ice cream from www.sunniskys.com/ in Angier, NC.
This was the result of a customer challenge to make a hot ice cream. There are at least two hot sauces, habanero, thai and cayenne chilis involved in this. I asked for a pint to go (for the folks at work) but they only pack kiddie size cups for take-away.
Unexpected - I did not expect to be taking a picture of a very wet and cold pedestrian on his way to work in the morning; I do not think he was expecting someone would take his picture either!
Perspective - I thought this scene was appropriate because I want to put myself in his (wet) shoes and look at the day from his perspective - as I sit in my dry and warm car, here he is soaking wet and cold, probably wishing he didn't have to be walking that morning.
Sometimes I think we need to take a moment and consider whats going on from another perspective
