The beautiful ladies of Cold Spring Village braving the elements, and selling thier wares at Congress Hall. Cape May,NJ
My friend was using my camera and took this picture. He said, "It's cold Kami" and thats just right! It was way to cold outside, I underestimated the temp when I went outside that day.

The Magical Ice Kingdom is a fine way to discover a bunch of photo opportunities in a freezing cold (literally) tent in Hyde Park. Apparently the largest of its kind in the UK, and created especially by/for Winter Wonderland, it’s essentially a -8°c tent full of some of the best ice (and snow) sculptures i have ever seen. Not that I know all that much about ice & snow sculptures. Hyde Parl’s Winter Wonderland, for those who didn’t know, describes itself as London’s 'ultimate Christmas destination’ 100+ rides & attractions, Christmas Markets, themed bars, cafes, restaurants and street food, plus live music - you get the drift.
Aaanyway - what to see in the Magical Ice Kingdom? All the fantasy classics…in ice form! Frozen giants, trolls, fairies, dwarves. They made a lake out of black ice and also a tiny castle (tiny by 'castle standards' but as you can hopefully see in the shots, the walls are tall). For those so inclined you can cough up a bit of money to be photographed on an ‘ice throne’. Speaking of coughing up money, last time I checked tickets are about £13 for an adult (there are discounts for young’s and seniors etc). There’s also a slide made of ice that, as far as I can tell, nobody’s arse froze to. The queue was looooooong.
All in all - amazing craftsmanship. I would love to find out who the talented people who crafted these magnificent sculptures are. As for the rest of Winter Wonderland? Prepare your wallet :/
I'm on the corner waiting for a light to come on,
That's when I know that you're alone,
It's cold in the desert water never sees the ground,
Special ones walk on without sound
Bitter cold and a biting wind are the norm in this wide open farm country. A touch of colour at the end of the day is the only hint of warmth to be found.
Still, Snowy Owls are drawn to this landscape, which is what I was out looking for when I came across this scene.
While taking these pictures it was 24 below C.
All the time there was sounds like gunshots as the trees cracked in the cold
Cold but very beautiful
A tiny, one of a kind, mermaid doll made of cold porcelain. She's basking in the sun :)

Suzy and I visited the horses today since it was sunny, but it was really cold and windy and our hands were freezing. Queen and Freddie Mac seemed to be toasty warm in their winter coats. Fannie Mae is in the background, I was surprised to see Freddie in the same pasture because Fannie Mae had a problem with kicking him. The owners have now left for Arizona for the winter.

‘Colder Still’
Time is so precious. And I feel it slipping away all the time. We have no control over the ticking clocks.

Last years cold and snow also granted good railfanning. Here at Penny Rd along the CN Leithon sub southbound manifest led by CN 8101, Ex EMD demo unit leads a CN C40-8 and a Santa Fe war bonnet. Chased him to Spaulding where a much better shot was taken.
