Waves crash over the ice glazed rocks on the New Hampshire coast as Whaleback Light stands amidst the sea smoke on the surface of the frigid ocean.
This winter scene was captured in Petrolia, Ontario, Canada at the home of my friends Jeff and Susan.
Hope those birds have a fire going inside their place!
An image made at Sutton Lodge Farm near Palterton, this place is a real hidden local gem and a favourite place of mine to make images at all times of the year. I love the abandonned and derelict feel of the place, in a way it's such a shame although the farmer clearly uses it for storing manure.
I'd been planning this shoot almost two years waiting for enough snow but not too much to make the lane inaccessible, I fell lucky over the weekend although with the snow last night it would not of been possible today as the lane was tricky enough when I visited.
Although it is a fairly monochrome image given the reduced palet based on the weather the is the first 'colour' image I've posted in a good while, I do have the black & white monochrome version and I'm not sure if I actually have a preference for that one.
A cold front arrives over Sydney.
My new girl arrived today, more than one month after the Convention, and she was totally worth the wait. I regret not buying a duplicate when I was in Orlando, as Eugenia is one of my favorite sculpts!!! Now I am looking to buy a head, if someone is selling one, please FM me.
Cold Stone Creamery is an American-based ice cream parlor chain. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the company is owned and operated by Kahala, L.L.C.[1][2] The company's main product is premium ice cream, or ice cream made with approximately 12–14% butterfat,[3][4] that is made on location and customized to order for customers at the time of purchase. Cold Stone has also expanded its menu with other ice cream related products such as ice cream cakes, pies, cookie sandwiches, smoothies, shakes and iced & blended coffee.
Since 2008, the company has been co-branding its locations with other chains in an attempt to increase its presence outside the United States and open up its business model from the traditional summertime season to a more year-round one.
The pack mentality of these sleighs reminded me of Nighteyes. But then I realise that they also represent cold, so I declare my themes done in one fell swoop. I never thought conceptual art could be that useful...
While shooting a Senior Thesis film in the hills of Ashville North Carolina, we encountered some surprisingly annoying onlookers. I was amazed at how curious these animals were with our presence in their field. They skiddishly sniffed all of our gear and were determined to make it into the shot.

Cold of course, being entirely relative to the location. If I were still in Michigan, I would just be wearing different clothes and going sledding.
Grauer Himmel, leichter Nebel brachten dieses Blau der Keramik im Horbachpark richtig zur Geltung.
Grey sky and a little bit of fog were strengthening the blue of the ceramic in the Horbackpark.

Another view of the Smoky Mountain stream in the National Park. Not much water now, but, I imagine it overflows after spring run off and rains

The following 14 photos—10 actually inside the exhibit and four more around the hotel prior to me retrieving my DSLR—were taken by Jeff with his camera. I chose not to bring mine in, not knowing how 9° air would affect it. I would have loved lots more photos and we had plenty of opportunities to take them. As I feared, though, the cold pretty much zapped the life out of Jeff's batteries. We were lucky to squeeze off the shots we got.
Found this morning during my cold walk. These two were in a low tree branch hanging over the flowing water of the creek.
So we got a little set back in our spring whether with a drop in the temperature and what should have been rain turned into snow. Other parts of the province got it pretty bad, so we got it pretty good in the city and its pretty much gone today. And this comes up on the coldest month of April in more than a 100 years.
Fortunately the weekend is shaping up to be much better for the weather :))
